Out with the old and in with the new.

This system received a sewer line upgrade from orangeburg pipe to schedule 40 PVC.

Simply described, orangeburg is a bituminized fiber pipe, which is a fragile sewer line material made of compressed wood pulp and coal tar pitch. During WW2, metals were heavily rationed and diverted to the war. During that time, this was a substitute used up until about 1972. The picture posted is a sample of the layers that separate and cause major issues.

Distribution Box upgrade was completed after discovering standing water above the headers. The issues were resolved and the system is functioning as it should once again.
