Just as I was getting ready to pull out some sad looking pentas, I noticed a couple of very disguised caterpillars enjoying a meal. So, I let them be. The pentas can wait until they're finished dining! 💚

With the change in weather, I am back to exploring new places to walk. Yesterday, Maggie and I enjoyed a refreshing walk in the rain through a newer neighborhood that had some beautiful spaces. Sharing a few of the notables.

My smoke tree, Grace, almost completely defoliated this summer in the extreme heat. Now that the weather has cooled down, she has surprised me with sporadic bursts of bright new leaves and a few pink "smoke" blooms.

The white bloom of the fall-blooming yucca really captures your eye. 💚

At the estate sale last weekend where I picked up the rock basket, I also brought three vintage Francois Carre' lounge chairs home. They make a statement in the garden beneath the pergola. Yes, they could be painted, but I tend to like the rusty, crusty, patina look. 😊

I stopped by an estate sale this weekend and came home with a few treasures. This rock basket was one of them! It's big, heavy, and apparently handmade in 1939 as a gift for someone named Marge. How special to find a piece with a story behind it! ❤

Hello, my garden friend. 💚

A look at the walkway behind the house.

The concrete culverts were found on this property, the bricks were leftovers from building my house, and the iron piece was an estate sale find. It was love at first sight and just had to bring it home.

I love to repurpose things and give them new life. 💚
