Argiope Aurantia, the garden spider, seem to show up in late summer, mainly because they become big enough to notice. Leave them alone and let them work. They are not a problem-they are part of the garden team. They are always welcome in my garden, in fact, I will occasionally through them an insect. 😊💚

The purple hyacinth bean vine growing on top of the greenhouse is not only beautiful, but the hummingbirds have been loving it, too.
It has also helped to keep the greenhouse a bit cooler during these horribly hot days. Since the vine is an annual, it won't block the sun from warming the greenhouse during the winter months-the months when I use it most.
Pretty, practical, and hummingbird approved! 💜

All of these "suns", along with everything else in this photo, have been collected and thrifted over time.
My old barn wall has been feeling like it was missing just one more piece to bring it all together and wouldn't you know it- I found it this weekend at a local estate sale. That "sun" was exactly what the wall needed and now feels complete and it makes me smile. 😊

While keeping the garden beds watered, the surrounding grass benefits as well, making my yard look like a green oasis in the middle of the parched pastureland. This green “oasis” is catching the attention of all kinds of wildlife-too much so.
An upside to the terrible drought we are experiencing is that there isn’t nearly as much mowing or w**d eating to be done.

Millennium Allium is planted in a couple different garden beds with different light conditions. The allium in full sun is past its peak on blooms, but the one in late afternoon sun is currently in full bloom. 💚
