Excited to share a recent custom lakefront residence concept our team has been developing.

This home was designed around a few core priorities:
• Strong indoor/outdoor connection
• Functional everyday living with entertaining in mind
• Clear separation between private and public spaces
• A modern farmhouse aesthetic with timeless materials

The plan features:

* ~3,900 SF heated living area
* Expansive open kitchen/living core
* Large covered rear porch oriented toward lake views
* Prep kitchen + walk-in pantry
* Dedicated office/flex spaces
* Oversized garage configuration for storage, workshop, or recreational use

One thing I always enjoy about residential design is balancing scale with comfort. Large homes can easily feel disconnected or oversized if circulation and proportions are not carefully considered. The goal here was to create something that feels open and elevated while still warm and livable on a daily basis.

From early planning diagrams to visualization renderings, it’s always rewarding to watch a concept begin taking shape.

This custom home blends clean contemporary lines with warm, natural textures—nestled seamlessly into its wooded surroundings. The dark vertical siding and metal roof create a bold silhouette, while the painted brick base grounds the structure with timeless character.

Expansive windows flood the interior with natural light, and the elevated deck extends the living space outdoors—perfect for quiet mornings or evening gatherings among the trees.

Over 40 years ago, the young architect Kelvin L. Moore detailed the structurally supported brick corbelling that impressively defines the arch for the main entrance to the Estes Athletic Facility at Fork Union Military Academy.

We’re excited to share a new project currently in design—a modern billiards and pool hall that blends craftsmanship, atmosphere, and play.

Our vision centers on the warmth of natural wood paired with the timeless character of stone, creating a space that feels both refined and inviting. Layered textures, thoughtful lighting, and a focus on acoustics come together to support both casual gatherings and serious gameplay.

The result is an environment where material honesty meets contemporary design—where every detail, from the grain of the wood to the weight of the stone, contributes to an experience that feels grounded, social, and elevated.
