We're looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator!
Summary:
The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and dump trucks, to perform various construction tasks. This role involves safely and efficiently operating equipment to excavate, grade, haul, and compact materials on construction sites. Reporting directly to the Foreman or Project Superintendent, the Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in supporting construction activities and ensuring the timely completion of projects.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 4 years of journey level experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment performing utility installation and/or site grading.
• Valid Driver’s License & Reliable transportation to / from the worksite.
• Thorough knowledge of heavy equipment operation techniques, safety procedures, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to interpret and follow instructions, plans, and specifications.
• Ability to read & understand survey markings
• Physical stamina and strength to operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Core Functions & Responsibilities:
• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and dump trucks, to perform construction tasks.
• Excavate, grade, haul, and compact materials according to project requirements.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Assist in setting up and dismantling temporary structures, such as barricades and shoring.
• Load and unload materials, equipment, and debris using heavy equipment.
• Adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices while operating heavy equipment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades to coordinate work activities and ensure project objectives are met.
• Follow instructions, plans, and specifications accurately to achieve project goals and maintain quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and ensure a productive and harmonious work environment.
