We are so excited to have been featured in 01940 The Magazine, celebrating JM Electrical's 40th anniversary and the Guarracino family story right here in our hometown of Lynnfield.

01940 The Magazine covers the people, places, and stories that make Lynnfield special, and we're proud to call this community home. From our founding in 1985 by Paul Guarracino to the second-generation leadership of Matthew, John Guarracino, as well as Andrew Guarracino, who serves as Project Manager on some of our largest and most complex projects. The Guarracino family's deep roots in Lynnfield have always been at the heart of who we are.

For four decades, we've had the privilege of growing alongside this community, sponsoring local events, supporting local schools and charities, and building a team filled with dedicated professionals who share our values. This feature is a meaningful recognition of that connection and the people who have made JM Electrical what it is today.

In honor of National Safety Month, we’re looking back at NECA Boston’s 3rd Annual Safety Day, which was held last month at the NECA Boston Office & Training Center in Quincy! 🦺⚡

JM Electrical was proud to participate in this day of safety education, industry insights, and networking, brough together by the NECA Greater Boston Chapter, under the leadership of Director of Education and Outreach Walter Morrell.

The event featured an outstanding lineup of speakers and sessions covering some of the most important topics facing our industry today. Patrick Lynch of Dominion Consulting opened up with a thought-provoking look at the true cost of a safety program, followed by Mike Gambsy and Elizabeth Thurn from Modern Assistance, the same employee assistance program JM Electrical utilizes, discussing how mental health builds resilience in the trades. Peter Barletta from the OSHA Boston Office provided critical updates on OSHA trends and the top 10 citations, and finally, Jill Scioli-Swygart from Stephenson and Brook closed with an insightful session on EMR and the future of insurance risk.

After some networking, the day wrapped up with a special screening of “Stronger than the Silence: The Road to Recovery Begins with a Voice,” which served as a powerful reminder that safety encompasses both physical and mental wellbeing.

As National Safety Month continues, we are grateful for industry partners like NECA Boston who bring our community together to strengthen our shared commitment to building safer jobsites across Greater Boston.

It’s hard to believe, but our annual summer outing is only two months away! ☀️

Before we look ahead, we’re taking a moment to look back on our incredible outing from two years ago at the Lawn on D. Great weather and company create the kind of moments that remind us why this celebration is one of our favorites of the year. There’s something special about stepping away from the office and the jobsite to come together as a team.

This year, we’re already looking forward to making new memories at East Boston’s Tall Ship, home of the best view in the city, for another well-deserved day to relax, recharge, and celebrate everything we have accomplished together.

At JM Electrical, we are proud to honor the family heritage that helped lay the foundation for everything we’ve built over 40 years.

The Guarracino family is proud to support the The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) ’s Italian American Heritage Wall in honor of Alfred and Anne Guarracino, Paul Guarracino’s parents and the grandparents of Matthew, John, and Andrew. First-generation Americans with roots in Sulmona, Italy, Alfred and Anne embodied the values of hard work, family, and community that continue to define JM Electrical to this day. Alfred served as an Electrical Inspector for the City of Boston, a proud piece of family history that feels especially meaningful given the business Paul and his sons went on to build.

For the Guarracino family, honoring their ancestors on the NIAF Heritage wall is not only a tribute to them, but a recognition that the values they were raised on didn’t just shape a family, but a company as well. The lessons passed down through generations continue to guide how we treat our employees, our clients, and our community every single day.

As we kick off National Safety Month, we're reflecting on an incredible three days at the NECA Safety Professionals Conference in Atlanta! Our team joined industry leaders and safety experts from across the country for keynote presentations and breakout sessions covering everything from risk management and regulatory updates to leadership and mental health in construction.

At JM Electrical, safety isn't just a priority during one month, it's embedded in our culture every single day. Being recognized as the 9th safest electrical contractor in the nation by NECA and receiving the NECA Safety Excellence Award reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring every team member goes home safe. Attending conferences like NSPC allows us to stay at the forefront of industry best practices, learn from safety leaders, and bring valuable insights back to our team.

The conference reinforced what we already know: "Safety is not a secret." It requires continuous learning, open communication, proactive risk management, and a culture where everyone takes ownership of safety on every jobsite. From regulatory compliance to mental health support through our partnership with Modern Assistance, we're committed to addressing safety holistically by protecting both the physical and mental wellbeing of our team.

As National Safety Month begins, we're energized by the knowledge and connections gained at NSPC and ready to continue advancing our safety culture. Thank you to NECA for bringing together the electrical industry's safety professionals and for championing the values that keep our teams safe.

This month, we're excited to spotlight Mike, an Electrical Engineering student at Wentworth Institute of Technology who has brought a contagious curiosity and hands-on energy to the JM Electrical team!

What sets Mike apart is the way he approaches problems. He's a natural reverse engineer who loves getting to the "why" and "how" of everything, and his enthusiasm for brainstorming and hands-on learning makes him a great fit for the JM Electrical team.

Outside of work and school, Mike keeps himself busy in just about every way imaginable. You'll find him lifting weights, running, playing basketball, and cooking up his own recipes. He's a music collector and creator, a fashion enthusiast, and a self-described nerd at heart who still loves building Legos and model kits of robots and figures in his free time.

We're grateful to have Mike as part of Team JME this term and excited to see how his hands-on approach and passion for learning continue to grow throughout his co-op experience.
