Did you know the City of Lynnwood offers an exciting opportunity for trees to be planted in Lynnwood at no cost to you?

Lynnwood residents can apply yearly for up to $500 in tree vouchers that can be used to buy almost any type of tree from a participating Washington State Landscape and Nursery Association (WSLNA) nursery!

The City of Lynnwood is giving away free trees.

🚨For the month of April, City of Lynnwood is giving away free trees!

The Tree Giveaway Program is part of the City of Lynnwood’s Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program and Justice40 Initiative funded by the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service’s Inflation Reduction Act. This grant focuses on growing awareness and advocacy of the importance of urban forests.

One goal of the project is to increase tree canopy with additional tree plantings in our parklands, along roadways, and in residential neighborhoods. Thank you for helping make the City a greener and healthier place to live!

REMINDER: Mountlake Terrace Event for Arbor Day

Arbor Day in Action: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Rec & Parks invites you to attend our annual Arbor Day in Action event at Veterans Memorial Park from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 25, with lunch following for volunteers. This event is held in honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day. The city was named as a “Tree City USA” and your help is needed to support the beautiful landscape of this park.

If you have a small group that would like to participate, please contact Parks Supervisor Celina Williams at 425-776-1811 to register in advance so we can plan accordingly.

A limited number of tools will be available to share. We ask that you please bring your rakes, w**d pullers, and non-electric pruning tools and participate in pruning, removing blackberry and invasive plants, w**ding, raking and trash pick-up. Work or gardening gloves are strongly encouraged and boots are recommended if there has been recent rain.

Volunteers should meet near the Police Department entrance for a brief meeting at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided indoors and if the weather is nice, you may enjoy it out in the park!
