A couple months ago, these homeowners paid someone two cuts in advance to take care of their property.

Unfortunately, the work never got done, communication stopped, and the property continued to get more and more overgrown.

That’s when they reached out to TruRoots Landscaping.

Today, about 4½ hours later, we got everything cleaned up, cut back, hauled away, and looking like a yard again.

Do you have landscape fabric underneath your mulch? You may want to take a closer look….

During this flower bed cleanup, I found old fabric deteriorating, weeds growing above it and roots spreading underneath it. Landscape fabric can help, but it definitely doesn’t mean your beds will remain weed-free forever.

My recommendation: keep it simple with two to three inches of mulch, apply Preen as directed and stay on top of regular maintenance.

Do you use landscape fabric in your flower beds or do you prefer mulch alone?

Yesterday’s rain gave me a chance to catch up on editing some projects I’ve been meaning to share.

This was a fun one! We cleaned out the flower beds, refreshed everything with fresh mulch, installed crisp natural edging, and gave the landscape a clean, finished look. We also trimmed back overgrown rose bushes, planted a Little Lime hydrangea, installed a custom brick address emblem, and applied Preen to help keep the beds looking their best.

There’s nothing better than seeing the difference a little hard work can make. Thanks again to these homeowners for trusting TruRoots Landscaping!

A little late posting this one, but it was too good not to share.

We transformed this front landscape by:
Trimming and shaping the existing shrubs
Creating clean, hand-dug natural bed edges
Cleaning out the landscape beds
Installing fresh mulch for a clean, finished look

It’s amazing how much of a difference proper pruning, crisp edges, and fresh mulch can make.
