It seems like many of us have spent the last several weeks dodging rain showers and
waiting for our gardens to really take off.
While we've certainly had some warm days,
the frequent rain has kept soils wet and
many gardens growing more slowly than we'd expect.
Now, with temperatures forecast to reach the mid to upper 90s this week, our gardens are about to face a completely different challenge.
This week, I'm making sure everything is mulched before the heat arrives. Here's why...

If you planted garlic near halloween last year, wait till AT LEAST Independence Day to pull it, maybe even 1-2 weeks later.
Start checking the bulb size gently with your fingers.
