What a way to start 2026! The grand re-opening of The Mary Vinson Memorial Library was absolutely stunning. While the reconfiguration of this building was unconventional, it made all the difference!
BTBB was honored to partner with Milledgeville’s own Dyer Construction Inc along with Dulohery Weeks. Thanks to the Building Committee, City of Milledgeville, Baldwyn County, and Georgia Public Library Service.

🎶 The new issue of Macon Magazine is here. Turn the page. Hear the sound. Feel the change. The Otis Redding Center for the Arts rises in the heart of Macon—not just as a tribute to a legend, but as a launching pad for the next generation of soul, sound, and Southern storytelling.

The water ripples gently around the bronze statue, poetically looking over the “Dock of the Bay” into the distance, just as Macon ponders its musical future. Will we, informed by the strength of our roots and buoyed by historical challenges, build a bridge that anyone can cross? Are we investing in our youth, up-and-comers, working artists, so they can continue to grow and thrive? Will we give a standing ovation to our own as they play great stages - and also erect stages and shine spotlights in our own neighborhoods? Will you, dear reader, play a supporting role to champion our artists?

This issue sings of what Macon builds, honors, and dares to dream.

It takes passion and vision to see behind layers of neglect, fire damage, and time and draw out the possibilities. Thank you to Ken Clark for the opportunity to help The Fair Building shine once again. Congratulations to Dublin Construction Company, Historic Macon Foundation, Pi-Tech Structural Engineers, and Camp Interiors who were phenomenal partners on this rehab!

We are thrilled that this project has kicked off to lay the groundwork for a new 64-unit with commercial lease space development in partnership with Macon Housing Authority and In-Fill Housing. Thank you Macon+Bibb County for the opportunity to be a part of the revitalization efforts in Historic Pleasant Hill.

The former Macon Charter Academy building came down Tuesday as part of a $19 million project to bring 64 new affordable housing units to Macon's Pleasant Hill neighborhood, a long-awaited investment in an area leaders say has been neglected for generations.
