🎶 The new issue of Macon Magazine is here. Turn the page. Hear the sound. Feel the change. The Otis Redding Center for the Arts rises in the heart of Macon—not just as a tribute to a legend, but as a launching pad for the next generation of soul, sound, and Southern storytelling.
The water ripples gently around the bronze statue, poetically looking over the “Dock of the Bay” into the distance, just as Macon ponders its musical future. Will we, informed by the strength of our roots and buoyed by historical challenges, build a bridge that anyone can cross? Are we investing in our youth, up-and-comers, working artists, so they can continue to grow and thrive? Will we give a standing ovation to our own as they play great stages - and also erect stages and shine spotlights in our own neighborhoods? Will you, dear reader, play a supporting role to champion our artists?
This issue sings of what Macon builds, honors, and dares to dream.
