WOW!!!!!
In 2025, Japan plans to make history with the launch of a satellite under its OHISAMA project, aiming to wirelessly transmit solar energy from space to Earth.
Weighing 180 kilograms, the satellite will orbit at an altitude of 400 kilometers and use microwave technology to deliver about 1 kilowatt of power to a receiving station in Suwa.
This groundbreaking effort marks a major step toward sustainable energy, offering the potential for constant, weather-resistant power and a reduced dependence on fossil fuels.
If successful, it could open the door to larger-scale solar power systems based in space.
