Starting gardens in blank spaces is another one of my favorite processes. Using natural materials and shared plants from others is a great way to create flower gardens producing in the spring, summer, and fall. Knowing the flow of a yard, the appropriate depth and spacing of plants, and even a customers favorite shape, gardens will come to life.

Here is an example of start to finish blank space gardening using big rocks, shared and purchased perennials, and lots of pine mulch. This has created a great source for cut flowers, a haven for pollinators, and plants to eye each season.

Have a blank space you would like nurtured into a blooming area? Give me call! 540.450.5074

These icy days have some of us dreaming of warmer days. Enjoying our outdoor spaces amongst our gardens, trees, and pollinator friends is high on my list.

A less talked about benefit of woodland management is use of resources on your property. This gazebo was built all from dead cedar in my customers woodlands. I was able to harvest the cedars during the cold months in weather much like today. Using trunks and branches, the garden fairy hut she always wanted came to life. Adding lights and a fire pit make this a perfect spot for hanging out in her garden day and night.

Woodland management allowed my customer to have maintained trails, as well as a beautiful yard space to enjoy in almost every season.

Whether it’s utilizing the resources in your space or sourcing elements outside your yard, allow me to make your visions a reality.

Give me a shout! 540.460.5074

Gardening doesn’t end in the summer months. Winter gardening focusing on selective pruning and leaf removal supports your spring and summer gardens.

January and February is the late dormant season and best for pruning. Common items for pruning include hydrangeas, crepe myrtles, and ornamental grasses.

Additionally, leaf clean up prevents dead spots in the spring and keeps up appearances. This leaf matter can be added to compost piles ready to feed plants and vegetables come spring planting.

Swipe right for the before pruning and raking of my client’s hydrangea and viburnum garden with some leaf removal for compost and garden clean up.

Sticking with the theme of fruit trees, in early November a client brought me this lemon tree with only a few leaves and no flowers. I have been supplementing the soil, hydrating with bottom drawn soaks, LED grow light sessions, and my favorite organic natural plant food mix.

Outdoor or indoor trees all need specific care. Indoor grows take a disciplined and knowledgeable approach; I have the experience and track record to rejuvenate and revive your plant friends no matter where they live in your space. Give me a shout for any of your outdoor or indoor plant needs.
