September 21 – October 7, 2026: a 700-mile, 17-day run across North Carolina raising awareness and funds for veteran and first responder mental health. Track the route, sponsor a mile, volunteer, or run a leg with us.

❤️ Nominate Your Neighbor in Need — Mike’s Story

When we asked our community to nominate a neighbor who could use a helping hand, Fincher’s Chapel UMC told us about Mike.

Mike lost his home during Hurricane Helene and has been living in a makeshift camper ever since. With only one leg, getting around his property had become especially difficult as weeds grew up and trash accumulated.

This week, our team members Uriel, Gustavo, and Hector spent the day cutting back the overgrowth, cleaning up the property, and hauling away the trash.

What a difference a day can make. Mike can now move around his home much more easily, and his surroundings are cleaner and safer.

This is exactly why we started Nominate Your Neighbor in Need — neighbors helping neighbors when they need it most.

A big thank you to Fincher’s Chapel UMC for nominating Mike, and to Uriel, Gustavo, and Hector for putting in the work. ❤️
