Terry George Construction Utah's Premier Custom Home Builder Since 1979

CUSTOM HOMES | REMODELS | EXTERIORS

FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 1979 |

At just twelve years old, Terry began his construction career working along side his dad and uncles. After graduating high school, he was awarded a full-ride construction scholarship to a local college. Though this offer was quite remarkable, Terry decided that the hands-on experience and knowledge that he would gain working in the field was far more valuabl

e than a formal education. As a newlywed husband with a baby on the way, Terry sought his own contractor's license and got right to work building the business that would support his family for many generations to come. Family has always been a core value of Terry's and that is reflected throughout his company. The TGC team is comprised of his wife, daughter, multiple granddaughters, a son-in-law, and many other non-related employees that are cherished like family as well. We understand that building a home is an important milestone for your family, and from our family to yours, we send a sincere thank you for choosing us to be apart of it.

Not every home is built to follow trends.

Some are built to follow people.

This one?
Every color, every finish, every choice was intentional. Not for resale. Not for approval. For them.

From the bold exterior to the soft, light-filled interiors, this home doesn’t try to blend in. It tells a story. Their story.

And that’s what we do at Terry George Construction.
We don’t build what’s popular.
We build what matters to the people who have to live in it.

Because trends fade.
But walking into a home that feels like you never goes out of style.

If you’re ready to build something that actually feels like yours, we’re ready.

Spring is here, and whether you’ve realized it yet or not… outdoor season is already knocking.

Give it a few weeks and you’ll be wanting to sit outside in the evenings, host friends, grill dinner, watch the kids play, or just have a place to unwind that isn’t your living room.

And here’s the truth most homeowners run into every year:
they wait too long.

By the time summer hits, contractors are booked out, timelines get pushed, and suddenly that “we should build a deck this year” idea turns into “maybe next year.”

Let’s not do that.

A well-built deck isn’t just extra square footage. It’s one of the most used spaces of your home during spring and summer. It becomes where birthdays are celebrated, dinners stretch a little longer, and everyday moments feel just a bit better.

And if you’re already thinking about how to use your tax return… this is one of the smartest ways to invest it back into your home. You’re not just spending money, you’re adding value, functionality, and a space you’ll actually use.

Take a look at this build:

Clean, modern composite decking that holds up to weather and wear
Sleek black railing that frames the space without blocking the view
Wide, usable layout that actually fits people, furniture, and real life

This isn’t a tiny add-on. This is a space designed to be lived on.

At Terry George Construction, we don’t just build decks that look good in photos. We build decks that last, that feel solid under your feet, and that you’ll still love years from now.

But here’s the part that matters most:

Our spring and early summer schedule is already filling up.

If you want your deck ready for warm nights, BBQs, and hosting this season, now is the time to get on the books. Not in a month. Not when it’s already 85 degrees outside.

Now.

Message us today or give us a call to get your project started.
Let’s build the space you’ll wish you had last summer.

Not to be dramatic… but this kitchen might ruin every other kitchen for you.

The oversized island that basically demands people gather around it.
Those deep, moody cabinets doing the most without trying too hard.
A range that says “yes, I cook” even if Uber Eats is on speed dial.
And windows that flood the whole space with light like it’s on a permanent glow-up.

This isn’t just where meals happen.
This is where everyone ends up.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Terry George Construction

While everyone’s out searching for luck, we’re over here building it from the ground up.

Because let’s be honest. Finding a four-leaf clover is rare.
Finding a contractor who shows up on time, does it right, and actually cleans up after themselves? That’s basically folklore.

Good thing you found us.

From new builds to remodels, we turn “this might be a problem” into “why didn’t we do this sooner.” No shortcuts. No surprises. Just solid work that holds up long after the holiday decorations come down.

Wishing you a day full of good fortune and projects that go exactly as planned for once.

We are beyond grateful.

Let’s talk about something homeowners rarely notice… until it becomes a very expensive problem.

Stucco.

From the outside, stucco looks solid, durable, and practically indestructible. And when it is installed correctly, it can last for decades. But when water finds its way behind stucco, things can go downhill fast.

What starts as a small crack or a little bubbling on the surface can actually be a warning sign that moisture has been sneaking behind the exterior of your home. Once water gets trapped behind stucco, it can lead to wood rot, mold, structural damage, and in some cases entire wall systems needing to be rebuilt.

We’ve opened walls that looked perfectly normal from the street, only to find framing that had completely deteriorated behind the stucco. It’s the construction version of an iceberg. What you see on the surface is often only a small part of the problem.

Here are a few signs homeowners should never ignore:

Cracks spreading across stucco walls
Discoloration or staining
Stucco that sounds hollow when tapped
Bubbling, swelling, or soft areas
Dry rot around windows, doors, or trim

These are often early warning signals that water is getting somewhere it absolutely should not be.

This is where experience matters.

Stucco repair is not simply a cosmetic patch job. The real work happens behind the surface. Proper repairs require diagnosing where the moisture came from, removing damaged materials, repairing the structural components, installing correct waterproofing systems, and then restoring the stucco finish so it blends seamlessly with the home.

At Terry George Construction, this is exactly the kind of work we specialize in.

We have been repairing and rebuilding stucco systems across Utah for decades. Our team understands how Utah’s climate affects exterior materials and how improper installation, flashing, or drainage can cause long term damage.

That experience is one of the reasons many of Utah’s top realtors recommend us when stucco issues appear during inspections. When a home sale is on the line and the damage needs to be evaluated honestly and repaired correctly, they know we can identify the problem and solve it the right way.

We do not believe in quick cosmetic fixes that hide the problem for a year or two. Our goal is to repair the system properly so homeowners do not have to deal with the same issue again down the road.

Because your home should not only look good from the outside. It should be structurally sound behind the walls too.

If you have noticed cracks, staining, or damage in your stucco, it may be worth having an experienced contractor take a closer look before the problem grows into something bigger.

And if the photos in this post made you cringe a little… that’s okay.

They made us cringe too.

But fixing problems like this is exactly what we do.

If these photos made you cringe a little… good. They should.

Behind cracked stucco and bubbling walls is often something much worse: moisture, rot, and structural damage quietly spreading where you can’t see it. What starts as a small cosmetic issue can turn into a very expensive surprise if it’s ignored.

At Terry George Construction, we have spent decades repairing and rebuilding damaged stucco across Utah. We don’t just patch the surface. We identify the cause, repair the structure underneath, and restore the exterior the right way so the problem doesn’t come back.

That’s why some of the top realtors in Utah call us first when they see stucco damage during inspections. They know we will diagnose it honestly and fix it correctly.

If your home is showing cracks, staining, bubbling, or soft spots in the stucco, don’t wait for it to become a much bigger problem.

Let the most trusted stucco contractor in Utah take a look.

Your house will thank you.

Bathroom Remodel Tips From the Pros (Because Pinterest Doesn’t Show You the Plumbing Problems)

Let’s talk about bathroom remodels.

If you’ve spent more than five minutes on Pinterest lately, you’ve probably seen those dreamy spa bathrooms with giant walk-in showers, glowing mirrors, floating vanities, and plants that somehow thrive in perfect lighting at all times.

Beautiful.

But what Pinterest doesn’t show you is the part behind the walls. The plumbing. The waterproofing. The electrical. The ventilation. The part where if it’s done wrong, that gorgeous tile shower becomes a very expensive indoor waterfall.

And this is exactly why bathroom remodels are one of those projects where hiring the right contractor matters.

At Terry George Construction, we’ve seen it all. The good, the bad, and the “who on earth thought this was a good idea?” remodels.

So before you start swinging a sledgehammer or ordering a vanity you saw online at midnight, here are a few bathroom remodel tips from professionals who actually build them.

Tip #1: Your Layout Matters More Than Your Tile

Everyone starts with tile. Marble tile. Zellige tile. Patterned tile. Tile that costs more per square foot than a decent steak dinner.

But here’s the truth.

The layout of your bathroom matters far more than the tile you choose.

A well designed bathroom should feel open, functional, and easy to move through. Sometimes the smartest upgrade is shifting a vanity, widening a shower, or improving storage rather than just swapping finishes.

A beautiful bathroom that doesn’t function well is like a sports car with square wheels.

Looks great. Drives terribly.

Tip #2: Waterproofing Is Not Optional

This might be the least glamorous part of a bathroom remodel… but it is the most important.

A properly built shower requires waterproof membranes, proper slopes, sealed penetrations, and correct installation techniques.

Skipping steps here might save money in the short term. But in a year or two it can lead to leaks, mold, and damage behind the walls.

At Terry George Construction, we build bathrooms the right way. The part you don’t see is just as important as the part you do.

Because a shower should contain water. Not slowly introduce it to the rest of your house.

Tip #3: Lighting Changes Everything

Bathroom lighting is wildly underrated.

Bad lighting can make a gorgeous bathroom feel dark and cramped. Good lighting can make even a modest space feel warm, open, and luxurious.

The best remodels layer lighting.

Vanity lighting for function.
Ambient lighting for atmosphere.
And sometimes accent lighting to add that modern glow people love right now.

Also, good lighting is the difference between leaving the house confident… or questioning your life choices in the mirror.

Tip #4: Storage Is Your Best Friend

Minimalist bathrooms look amazing in magazines.

In real life, people have hair dryers, towels, skincare products, toothbrushes, and approximately seventeen things living under the sink.

Good bathroom design plans for that.

Smart vanities, recessed shelving, built in niches, and thoughtful cabinet space keep your bathroom feeling clean and organized.

Because clutter has a magical ability to make even a beautiful bathroom look chaotic.

Tip #5: Hire the Right Contractor

This is the big one.

Bathroom remodels involve plumbing, electrical, framing, tile work, waterproofing, ventilation, and finish carpentry. That’s a lot of moving pieces.

Hiring a licensed and insured contractor protects you, your home, and your investment.

At Terry George Construction, we’ve built our reputation on quality craftsmanship, honest work, and doing things the right way the first time.

We’re fully licensed and insured, and we take pride in delivering remodels that don’t just look great on day one, but continue to perform for years.

Because a bathroom remodel should feel exciting… not stressful.

The Bottom Line

A great bathroom remodel isn’t just about trendy tile or fancy fixtures.

It’s about thoughtful design, quality materials, and experienced professionals who know how to build something that lasts.

If you’re thinking about upgrading your bathroom, Terry George Construction is here to help guide the process from start to finish.

And who knows…

With the right remodel, your bathroom might just become your favorite room in the house.

(We promise we won’t judge if you stay in the shower an extra ten minutes.)
