The shelves are 1/8th octagon pieces joined together using half laps and stained in jacobean to make them stand out from the true black stained bases where the stretchers are joined by octagon mitered bridle joints.

The next woodworking class will be Saturday, Dec 9th, This will be the Tier 1A class and we will make coasters out of your choice of mahogany, cherry, black walnut and eastern red cedar. The class will begin at 9:30 and go until we are done. Price is $65 per person and a 4 person max.
We will learn to use the jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, random orbit sander and router table :)
A Tier 1 class must be completed before taking a Tier 2 class.

Every year I feel like I'm "coasting into Christmas on financial fumes". Even though it's a relative busy season for me it's mostly playing catch up on late bills coupled with the knowledge that the next 3 months are going to be totally dead.
