Did you know that even everyday movement—like foot traffic or gym equipment—can cause perceptible vibrations in buildings?

BBM’s vibration analysis design ensures occupant comfort and performance standards are met, especially in sensitive environments like labs, hospitals, or mixed-use buildings.

From design-phase modeling to on-site testing, we help projects stay steady—literally.

Great work deserves to be recognized, and sometimes lunch is a pretty good way to do it!

BBM Director of Technology Troy Cernoch, based in our Boca Raton office and overseeing our BIM Techs across both BBM offices, made a recent visit to the Maitland team. While there, he took the BIM Tech team to Sixty Vines in Winter Park for some well-deserved time together outside the office.

Our BIM team is an essential part of the structural engineering process at BBM. Their work helps translate engineering and design into coordinated models and construction documents that support our projects every day.

At BBM, we believe it is important to recognize the people behind that work and make sure their contributions are seen and appreciated. Taking some time away from the office for good food and conversation was a simple way to say thank you.

Thanks to Troy for his leadership, and to our BIM Techs for everything you bring to BBM!

✈️ Some buildings have to make room for a very different kind of traffic.

On National Aviation Day, we’re celebrating BBM Structural’s history of engineering facilities designed around aircraft and the unique structural demands that come with them.

Aviation facilities, especially hangars, call for large open spaces and wide clear spans to allow aircraft to move safely in and out. The structure has to accomplish that while supporting everything happening above and around that open space. It’s a specialized area of structural engineering that BBM has been proud to support through the design of more than a dozen aviation facilities.

Our experience includes aircraft hangars and private aviation terminals for clients including Sheltair Aviation, Signature Aviation, and Orion Jet Center.

Happy National Aviation Day to the aviation professionals, design teams, and partners who keep this industry moving.

One fundraising goal can put lifesaving skills in students' hands for years to come.

BBM Structural is once again supporting the American Heart Association’s 2026 Heart Walk, with an initial goal of raising $5,000 to provide a CPR & First Aid Anywhere Training Kit to a local school. Once a facilitator is trained, the kit can be used to teach students for the next three to five years.

This cause has personal meaning for the BBM team and is one we have supported for many years. With the help of our colleagues, partners, friends, and community, we hope to reach $5,000 and keep going.

BBM Structural was proud to help set the scene at Tilt-Up Vibes: Orlando as a Scene Setter Sponsor!

Hosted by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association at American Social Bar + Kitchen, the evening brought together members of Florida's tilt-up community for a relaxed night outside the office. Tilt-up has long been an important part of BBM's work, including award-winning designs over the years, so our team especially enjoyed catching up with longtime industry colleagues and others who continue to move tilt-up design and construction forward.

Representing BBM were Bora Erbilen, Luis Bedoya, Ariel Neris, Nathan Morrow, Cahit Ogunc, Austin Scott, and Karen Petersen.

Thank you to TCA for bringing the Orlando tilt-up community together. BBM is always glad to support the industry and the people behind it.

Project Spotlight | Matanzas High School

Every campus evolves to support the next generation of students.

BBM Structural provided structural engineering for the expansion and renovation of Matanzas High School, including a new 20,000-square-foot, two-story classroom addition, a new 8,000-square-foot fieldhouse, and renovations that transformed the former media center into an expanded cafeteria seating area. Working alongside SchenkelShultz Architecture, H.A. Contracting Corporation, and Flagler County Schools, the project added new academic, athletic, and student spaces designed to serve the campus for years to come.

Our team had a great time serving as a Gold Sponsor of the Orlando Foundation for Architecture's 'Architecture on Tap' event at Hourglass Brewing. It was a fun evening spent with colleagues, clients, and friends while supporting an organization that continues to strengthen and promote the architectural profession throughout Central Florida.

For nearly 40 years, BBM Structural has valued the relationships we've built with architects, and we're proud to support events that bring our industry together.

Thank you to OFA for another great event. We look forward to the next one!

Another great week at the FEFPA Summer Conference.

As a Silver Sponsor, BBM Structural enjoyed welcoming visitors to Booth 913 and catching up with so many familiar faces. Our patriotic booth was a fun way to celebrate the week leading up to the Fourth of July, and the cakesicles were once again a favorite among attendees.

One of the best parts of FEFPA is seeing people outside the conference sessions. We had the chance to share dinners with longtime industry friends, spend time with colleagues and their families, and reconnect with partners we don't always get to see during the year. Those moments are what make the conference special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello. We appreciate every conversation and always enjoy being part of the FEFPA community.

Building a stronger AEC industry includes supporting the organizations that advocate for it.

BBM Structural Engineers was proud to once again sponsor the AIA Orlando FAPAC Bowling Tournament, held at Aloma Bowl in support of the Florida Architects Political Action Committee (FAPAC). This annual fundraiser helps advance advocacy efforts for the architectural profession by supporting lawmakers who understand the value and impact of the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.

Representing BBM at this year's event were Principal Ariel Neris, PE; Associate / Senior Project Manager Nathan Morrow, PE; Project Manager Maggie Kirk, PE; Project Engineer Charles Thornton; and BIM Technicians Annette Gonzalez and Aslyn Banegas.

Thank you to AIA Orlando and FAPAC for another successful event and for bringing the AEC community together in support of the profession and its future.
