41 years ago my grandfather lost his youngest son. In 1985, Philip Cranmer was traveling to Mexico City to bid on sodding the 1986 FIFA WC Finals at Azteca when he tragically passed away in a car accident. Watching Mexico vs Ecuador @ Azteca makes me both sad yet joyous to see the “world’s sport” being played on beautiful natural turf.
