🌿 Spring Pruning in Action

Another beautiful landscape transformation completed at Winding Way in Malvern.

Proper pruning does more than improve appearance. It promotes healthy growth, improves airflow, protects structures from overgrowth, and keeps your landscape looking its best throughout the season.

For this project, our team:
✔️ Trimmed and shaped the hedge line along the rear fence for a clean, level appearance
✔️ Cut back overgrown foliage to maintain approximately one foot of clearance from the fence line
✔️ Pruned ornamental plants and shrubs to encourage healthy future growth
✔️ Removed ivy encroaching on hardscape surfaces and pool areas
✔️ Cleaned up and removed all pruning debris from the property

The before-and-after photos show how strategic pruning can dramatically improve the look, health, and functionality of a landscape while preserving privacy and structure.

Project Update: Almost There!

A few weeks ago, this area was bare soil. Today, it’s well on its way to becoming a healthy, usable lawn.

One of the biggest challenges on this property was getting grass to grow in an area that receives a lot of sun. To give the lawn the best chance of success, we removed existing material, added new topsoil, and installed fresh sod. We also seeded and strawed around the new shed and other bare areas to help fill everything in.

To protect the investment, we’re installing temporary fencing to keep dogs and mowers off the new sod while it establishes. We also added river rock and liriope around the patio, along with fresh mulch, creating a low-maintenance solution for areas where grass struggled to thrive.

Every property is different. Sometimes the best solution isn’t just more seed, it’s improving the soil, choosing the right materials, and designing around the conditions of the site.

🧱 Masonry Repair in Progress 🧱

Not every project requires a full replacement. Sometimes the best solution is restoring and rebuilding what’s already there.

For this project, Cliff carefully disassembled a failing brick wall, cleaned and salvaged the existing bricks, rebuilt the wall to a more stable height, and improved drainage behind it with fabric and crushed stone. The goal? A stronger, longer-lasting wall that blends seamlessly with the existing landscape.

The details matter. Proper drainage, quality mortar, and careful installation all play a role in preventing future movement and extending the life of the structure.

Plant install day 🌿

Today Jorge’s crew installed (5) 6’ Schip Laurels to help add privacy, structure, and year-round greenery to this property. Each plant was installed with root builder fertilizer and garden soil to give them a strong start for healthy growth.

Now it’s all about watering and letting them establish.
