It's official. Mammoth Mountain in California 22/23 is now the snowiest winter on record, ever.

It's already been a historic season here in Mammoth Lakes and to add to it today Mammoth Mountain announced that it will be open daily for skiing and riding until AT LEAST the end of July.

As always, does not have a specific closing date yet, but they will plan to stay open as long as conditions allow. Sitting on one of the deepest base depths ever recorded at Main Lodge, it's going to be some of the best spring (and summer!) skiing and riding we've ever seen.

With another Atmospheric River storm here today, please continue to play it safe by checking roads conditions via Caltrans, either at Roads.dot.ca.gov for up to the minute road conditions/chain restrictions or use the Caltrans Quick Map: Quickmap.dot.ca.gov. You can also call the Road Condition Hotline at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623).

We are also still experiencing extreme snow loads on many structures/buildings around town. If you are visiting Mammoth Lakes in the coming days, please be aware of this extreme snow load advisory. If you are checking into your lodging property and notice anything that looks amiss, please report structural damage to (760) 965-3629 or visit townofmammothlakes.ca.gov for more details.

We are currently experiencing a break in our major storm systems for the next few days. This is giving our community the chance to recover, clean up and rest. There is a lot to be done and possibly more major weather on the horizon next week.

Please use this time to take a collective deep breath with us. If you are coming to town to enjoy what Mother Nature has delivered, please consider bringing your own groceries and packing food, water and blankets in your vehicle, as well as your patience. We are digging out while also trying to enjoy what Mother Nature has left for us.
