🏥 Project Spotlight: Inova Blue Parking Garage, Falls Church, VA 🏥

KGS Construction recently had the opportunity to tackle a complex double-tee stem repair at the Inova Blue Parking Garage, originally built in the 1990s. Our team was called in to evaluate a spalled concrete condition on this busy hospital campus—where timely, reliable repairs were essential.

During our assessment, we identified deteriorated concrete and exposed prestressing strands—some of which were broken beyond what a conventional patch could address. Partnering with Morabito Consultants, we developed a comprehensive repair solution: the affected double-tee stems were encased with concrete, rebar, and post-tensioning cables, restoring full structural capacity while minimizing disruption to hospital operations.

A huge thank you to HITT Contracting Inc. and the Inova Facilities Department for their collaboration. This project is a great example of how careful investigation, expert teamwork, and innovative solutions keep structures safe, functional, and long-lasting.
