Found Hail Damage That Weather Reports Missed! Here’s How | Austin Roofing

What happens when you find obvious hail damage on a roof, but the weather report says there was no hail in the area?

In this case, we found clear hail damage on a customer's house, but the weather guidance report wasn't showing anything. The adjuster and roofer were both confused because the damage was obvious.

After investigating further, we discovered the customer lived between two cell towers. Because of that location, the hail event didn't show up properly on the weather guidance report.

Fortunately, the hail damage was still present, Travelers approved the claim, and the customer was able to get a new roof.

This is a great example of why homeowners shouldn't rely on a weather report alone when there is visible roof damage. A thorough roof inspection can help uncover damage that may not immediately appear in weather data.
