🌳☀️ Learning in the garden, sharing ideas, and maybe dodging a summer thunderstorm or two! ☀️🌳

Last month, our team gathered at the beautiful New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill in Boylston, MA, for our annual Summer Workshop. From plant health care and pollinator-friendly practices to the latest pest and disease updates, the day was packed with learning, collaboration, and plenty of great conversations.

One of the best parts of working at Bartlett is the opportunity to learn from each other. Whether we were out in the gardens, participating in hands-on discussions, or sharing experiences from the field, everyone left with new ideas and knowledge to bring back to their clients and crews.

A big thank you to our presenters, organizers, and everyone who attended. Investing in our people helps us continue delivering the expert tree and shrub care our clients expect.

And let's be honest... having a classroom surrounded by stunning gardens doesn't hurt either! 🌿😉

🌳☀️ Some trees are built for summer. Others are already asking, “When’s the rain coming back?” 😅

If your lawn is looking a little crispy these days, it might be time to think about planting trees that can handle New England's dry spells a little better. Trees like Ginkgo, Eastern Redbud, Oak, and Hackberry are known for being more drought-tolerant once established.

The right tree in the right place means less stress, less watering, and more time enjoying your landscape instead of worrying about it. 🌳💚

💧 Quick Tree Tip: Even drought-tough trees need a drink now and then! During extended hot, dry weather, a slow, deep watering can help keep trees healthy and happy.

Wondering if your trees are feeling the heat? Our Bartlett Arborists can help identify signs of drought stress and recommend the best ways to protect your landscape.

📞 Give us a call and let's keep your trees thriving all summer long!

🌿 Celebrating the Red, White & Blue—Naturally! 🌿

This Fourth of July, we’re reminded that some of the most beautiful displays of red, white, and blue don’t just come from fireworks—they grow right in our landscapes.
From vibrant red blooms to classic white dogwoods and bold blue hydrangeas, our natural surroundings give us plenty to celebrate. 🌸🌼💙

As you enjoy time with friends, family, and your outdoor spaces this weekend, don’t forget to keep safety in mind:

🎆 Fireworks tip: Always light fireworks well away from trees, shrubs, and overhead branches. Sparks and heat can easily damage foliage—or worse, start a fire—especially during dry summer conditions.

Wishing you a safe, happy, and relaxing Independence Day from all of us at Bartlett Tree Experts!

Summer is here, and now is the time to make sure your trees and landscape are working for you—not against you.

✅ Are your trees properly pruned and maintained?

Can you believe we’re STILL in a drought? 😳🌱

It’s hard to wrap your head around… but yes, even after some rain here and there, much of Vermont—and New England as a whole—is still dealing with drought conditions. And our trees are still feeling the stress! Dry soil + rising temps = real struggle for root systems… and it shows in leaf drop, scorch, and overall decline.

💧 The good news? A little extra care goes a long way:

✔️ Water deeply (about once every 7–10 days)
✔️ Check soil moisture before watering
✔️ Aim for about an inch of water per week
✔️ Add mulch to help retain moisture

It’s all about balance—too little water harms your trees, but too much can too.
If your trees are looking stressed, don’t wait—reach out to your local Bartlett Tree Experts team for guidance 🌳📞

🟢 May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month 🟢

In New England, warmer weather means more time spent outdoors—and increased exposure to ticks. Our region consistently sees higher rates of Lyme disease, making prevention an important part of protecting your home, family, and pets.

At Bartlett Tree Experts, we work with homeowners across New England to help create healthier, safer outdoor environments. Proper landscape management can play a key role in reducing tick habitat around your property.

Awareness is the first step toward prevention. If you have questions about protecting your landscape this season, we’re here to help!
