This one got a serious upgrade. 🔨
Here are a few photos from a recently completed deck remodel and expansion project.
We tore off the old decking and railings, poured four new concrete footings, and extended the structure to create a larger 14' x 17' main deck. The rebuild included a new beam, all new 6x6 pressure-treated support posts, and diagonal bracing throughout to add strength and long-term durability.
One of the biggest transformations was the staircase. The original stairs were extremely steep and resting directly on the soil. We poured a new concrete landing and mid-span support footing, then rebuilt the staircase with a much more comfortable, code-compliant rise and run. Safe, solid, and much easier to use.
For finishes, we installed Trex Signature black aluminum railings topped with a cocktail rail, which quickly became one of our favorite details on the project. The deck surface was finished with Trex Transcend Lineage in Carmel, along with matching fascia for a clean, seamless look.
The end result is a deck that's larger, stronger, safer, and built to last — with a modern look that completely transformed the backyard.
