This one got a serious upgrade. 🔨

Here are a few photos from a recently completed deck remodel and expansion project.

We tore off the old decking and railings, poured four new concrete footings, and extended the structure to create a larger 14' x 17' main deck. The rebuild included a new beam, all new 6x6 pressure-treated support posts, and diagonal bracing throughout to add strength and long-term durability.

One of the biggest transformations was the staircase. The original stairs were extremely steep and resting directly on the soil. We poured a new concrete landing and mid-span support footing, then rebuilt the staircase with a much more comfortable, code-compliant rise and run. Safe, solid, and much easier to use.

For finishes, we installed Trex Signature black aluminum railings topped with a cocktail rail, which quickly became one of our favorite details on the project. The deck surface was finished with Trex Transcend Lineage in Carmel, along with matching fascia for a clean, seamless look.

The end result is a deck that's larger, stronger, safer, and built to last — with a modern look that completely transformed the backyard.

This week we completed another deck remodel—built on a solid foundation.

The existing framing was in excellent condition, and we took the opportunity to improve it further by adding structural blocking throughout and reinforcing the perimeter for secure, long-lasting railing attachment.

This 16' x 20' deck features Trex Honeygrove composite decking, installed using full-length 20' boards for a clean, seamless look. The perimeter is finished with Deckorators Rapid Rail black aluminum railing and black composite fascia for a sharp, cohesive finish.

One of the standout features of this project is the custom sunshade system. The homeowner had a vision, and we were able to bring it to life with 8' black aluminum posts, house-mounted anchors, and integrated hardware for a clean and functional design.

Really proud of how this one came together. Big thanks to the homeowner for trusting us with their project.

Check out this front porch remodel we recently completed!

We built a new platform over the existing concrete stoop and cantilevered the framing to add extra width—without the need for extensive additional concrete work. The finished porch features Trex deck boards in Saddle, Deckorators handrails, and AZEK PVC trim for a clean, durable look.

This upgrade was a huge improvement over the original stairs, and the homeowner couldn’t be happier with the result.

Take a look through the photos, and feel free to reach out if you’re considering a front step or porch remodel of your own!

Here are a few photos of a front porch post and railing replacement we completed recently.

The old railings were wrought iron, and the posts supporting the roof were significantly out of plumb.

We installed new 4x4 pressure treated wooden posts and secured them to the concrete stoop using galvanized post bases and 1/2" concrete expansion anchors. Once the structural supports were in, we wrapped the posts in white PVC.

We also added gutter downspouts to the front legs of the roof gutter to encourage proper drainage.

Completing this project was a major improvement to the front of this home!

If you could use new railings on your house, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Here are a few photos of a project we completed this week.

This one was kind of unusual because there was a large concrete block outside the front door with no steps leading down.

We built a 4' x 8' frame similar to how a deck would be built: using two 2x6s to create beams, and 2x6s as joists. In this instance the existing concrete block was level side-to-side and pitched away from the house.

This allowed us to insert 3/4" PVC blocks underneath the front beam, so that the majority of the platform's frame would not be in direct contact with the concrete.

Therefore, rain will be able to drain down and out from beneath the deck, ensuring the longevity of the pressure treated lumber.

We secured the deck platform to the concrete block using heavy duty Simpson Strong Tie right angle brackets, and 5" x 1/2" concrete expansion bolts. Therefore, the platform will not move when standing on one of the cantilevered ends.

Then, we poured a 2'x8' concrete pad for the new stairs rest on.

One thing I did here, which I'm surprised I hadn't thought of before was run the 4x4 guard rail posts long, so they extend beneath the deck frame, and act as a nailing surface for closing out the space beneath the deck.

After that, I cut nine, two step stringers and attached them to the outside beam using galvanized steel strapping. Then installed blocking between all of the stringers, white PVC fascia, Trex Toasted Sand deck boards, and white vinyl handrails with black aluminum balusters.

Sorry for the overly detailed explanation. I hope you enjoy the photos, and feel free to reach out if you'd like something like this for your home!

Here are a handful of photos of a Trex deck we completed a few weeks ago.

The original deck was 12'x12'. We poured three new concrete footings and framed an 8.5' x 12' expansion to make the new deck's dimensions 20' x 12'.

The existing deck had stairs that spanned the whole length of the deck. We reduced the stair opening on the deck to four feet and added handrails to areas that were previously open.

We truly appreciated this homeowner's design choices - black composite handrails, Trex Transcend Biscayne for the majority of the deck, and Trex Transcend Island Mist for the picture frame. They were great to work with, and we appreciate them!

We also installed low voltage wiring and LED lights on the guardrail posts, and stair risers. I'm sure it looks amazing at night!

Underneath the deck we built floating walls with pressure treated lumber and used Trex Biscayne Fascia boards to close it out.

I hope you enjoy the photos!

Here are a few photos of a 20' x 12' deck we remodeled this week. First, we started off by removing the old decking. We salvaged most of the existing frame, which was in good shape.

Then, we installed two new joists and blocking on each end of the deck so that a partial picture frame could be installed.

The total width of this deck just barely exceeded twenty feet in length. The maximum length deck board is twenty feet. Therefore, we decided to add one perpendicular board on each end, so that we could have full length twenty-foot boards in the middle, with no butt-joints between deck boards.

On top of the deck is Trex Foggy Wharf, and on the side, we installed AZEK PVC fascia, along with white vinyl privacy lattice beneath it.

If you need a new deck built, or an existing deck remodeled please don't hesitate to contact us!

We hope you're staying cool and enjoying summer!

Here are a handful of photos of a recent deck we built. This deck was built free standing without any mechanical connections to the house. The dimensions are 12'x20' with 2x8 joists spaced 12 inches on center. We used Trex Toasted Sand composite deck boards on the surface and white PVC for fascia.

To finish it off we built ~13'x13' box steps off the corner. We hope you enjoy the photos! Please dont hesitate to contact us if you're looking to have a deck built or remodeled.

Here are a handful of before, during and after photos of a deck we finished building this week.

This is a 10' x 12' freestanding deck, whose framing consists of 6x6 posts, a triple 2x10 beam, and 2x8 joists spaced 12" OC.

With freestanding decks, diagonal bracing between the posts and beam is critical, and adding them to this build eliminated all movement in the deck frame.

On the deck surface we used Trex Foggy Wharf deck boards, Deckorators composite handrails with black aluminum balusters, and white PVC boards on the face of the framing.

I hope you enjoy the photos!
