A rotten window frame is one of those problems that never stays contained. 🪵

What starts as a soft spot on the exterior of the frame is already moisture damage working its way inward. By the time it is visible from the inside it has usually spread into the surrounding wall, the insulation, and in some cases the structural framing behind the window.

The window itself is often still salvageable at that point. The damage around it may not be. Repairing a rotten frame early is not just about the window. It is about protecting everything the window is built into.
