Our story starts just like many other excavating companies out there, one man with 20+ years of equipment operating experience, a backhoe, and a dream.

Established in 2012, Hackman Construction LLC is a family-owned sitework contractor specializing in large-scale commercial, industrial, and municipal projects throughout Central Pennsylvania. In 2006, James Skiles set out to start a business where he could excavate a new life for himself and his family (we also love puns). Skiles Excavating, LLC was born, and we began building relationships with e

lectrical contractors performing excavating for underground utilities and concrete work. We expanded into plumbing excavation, and small site projects. In 2018, we became incorporated in PA, and currently have over 30 employees. We have built relationships with our contractors and provide excellence in all we do. We service commercial projects all over Pennsylvania, as well as other states in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Mike is celebrating his first year with Hackman Construction this month!

As one of our mechanics, Mike keeps busy in the shop working on the equipment our crews rely on every day. When the work calls for an extra set of hands in the field, he’s also ready to jump in and help wherever he’s needed.

Mike has become a dependable part of the team, and we’re glad to have him on board!

This month, we’re recognizing Zach on his 4 year work anniversary with Hackman Construction.

As one of our mechanics, Zach plays an important role in keeping our equipment working and our crews moving. He brings his experience and knowledge to the shop, but he’s also no stranger to the field when a hand is needed there.

We appreciate Zach’s hard work and willingness to step in wherever he’s needed!

Our crew has been working across this project on a variety of sitework, with concrete being one piece of the overall scope.

We’re making progress one day at a time, putting in the work and following through on the details.

This month, we’re celebrating Tyler’s 5 year anniversary with Hackman Construction!

Tyler grew up around construction and has turned that experience into a career of his own. Today, he puts that knowledge to work as a foreman, operator, and concrete worker, bringing great versatility to the team.

He’s someone who can take on a variety of work, help wherever he’s needed, and keep things moving on the job. We appreciate Tyler’s experience, hard work, and the role he plays on our team!

Happy Work Anniversary to our CFO, Laura!

Over the past five years, Laura has become an integral part of our team and of our day-to-day operations. She brings a combination of knowledge, drive, and organization, along with a willingness to jump in wherever she’s needed.

We’re grateful for everything she contributes to Hackman Construction and for the role she’s played in helping our company continue to grow.

Our company picnic was a great way to celebrate a big milestone for Hackman Construction: our new shop and office in Manheim!

We enjoyed great food, time together, and the chance for everyone to tour the new facility. It was a fun day and a great opportunity to pause and appreciate how far we’ve come.

We’re grateful l for our team and the hard work they put in every day. We look forward to continuing to settle into our new space and all that’s ahead 👏

Behind every finished structure is a team putting in the work long before the walls go up.

Our team is actively excavating for footer installation on this commercial project, moving thousands of cubic yards of material and prepping the site for the next construction phase. It demands attention to detail, careful planning, and teamwork. We're proud to be part of bringing this project to life 👷
