More sheet pile contractors are bringing chemical grouting in house.

That means more of the job stays with your crew and more of the revenue stays with your business.

HMI can help you get set up with the equipment, materials, training, and support to do it.

What does 10x expansion actually mean?

When you’re pumping polyurethane, expansion affects yield, material usage, and ultimately your job costs.

In our latest blog we break down:
▪️ What foam expansion actually means
▪️ How expansion relates to yield
▪️ Why it matters when estimating jobs

Know your foam. Know your numbers. Make better decisions on the job.

Check out the blog:

At its simplest, expansion describes how much the polyurethane increases in volume as the liquid components react and become foam. For contractors, that matters because expansion directly affects how much finished foam can be produced from the material being pumped.

Why tear it out if you can lift it?
Settled concrete doesn’t always need a full replacement. With polyurethane concrete lifting, you can raise and stabilize existing slabs with less mess and disruption.

The process is straightforward: Drill. Pump. Patch. But getting the lift right comes down to knowing where to drill, how much material to inject, and when to stop.

Why so many different foam densities?

Because a sidewalk and a highway aren’t the same job.

Sure, 2 lb foam can lift concrete. But lifting the slab is only part of the job. What that foam needs to handle after it cures matters too.

That’s where different densities come in.

Higher density doesn’t automatically mean better. It means you’ve got another tool in the toolbox.

We break it down here:

Learn why polyurethane foams come in different densities and how contractors match foam density to the demands of residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure concrete lifting projects.

How does a small amount of liquid turn into a solid block of rigid polyurethane foam?

It all comes down to chemistry. A reaction creates millions of tiny CO₂ bubbles, causing the foam to rapidly expand and take shape.

See the science in action here:

Watch a small amount of liquid expand into a large block of rigid p...

A big thank you to Char and everyone at HMI who donated school supplies for families affected by the Menasha tornado.

It's great to see our team step up and help out when our community needs it. We hope these supplies help make back-to-school a little easier for the kids and families getting back on their feet.

Proud to be part of a team that's always willing to lend a hand.

Think "2 lb foam" means the foam weighs 2 pounds? Think again.

One of the biggest misconceptions in polyurethane concrete lifting is what "2 lb foam" actually means; and it can impact the way you compare products.

We break down foam density and why the numbers on the label don't tell the whole story.

Check out our Blog:

Learn what 2 lb, 3 lb, and 4 lb polyurethane foam really mean. Understand foam density, expansion, compressive strength, and why choosing the right formulation matters for concrete lifting.

The right products matter. But the right people behind them make all the difference. That's what HMI's here for.
