These homeowners in Manlius were in need of a handicap-accessible bathroom after Elaine experienced a decline in health that ultimately confined her to a wheelchair. Simple routines that most people take for granted had become frustrating and difficult. The "dream bathroom" remodel was no longer just about aesthetics. The goal became creating a space that restored comfort, accessibility, independence, and dignity.

Many older homes throughout CNY were never originally designed with long-term accessibility or wheelchair maneuverability in mind, which often requires substantial layout redesign during reconstruction.

Wheelchair-accessible bathroom remodeling requires careful consideration of turning radius, fixture positioning, knee clearance, shower entry design, and how the homeowner physically moves throughout the space every day. In this case, nearly every major component of the room had to be redesigned with long-term accessibility and independence in mind.

Featured: an ADA-compliant shower with a Kohler full body jet system, separate wand, and rain shower head.

This Liverpool homeowner originally contacted Bath Pros after an independent contractor he hired through a family referral abandoned his project altogether.

Although there are many talented independent contractors in this industry, bathroom remodeling is one of the most technically unforgiving trades in residential construction, and low pricing sometimes comes at the expense of planning, experience, or system knowledge. The previous work needed to be completely removed before we could even begin rebuilding the shower properly.

Despite the complexity of the project, the installation itself went very smoothly, culminating in a beautiful and functional wet space for this CNY family. Scroll to see finish photos from various angles, and the state of the install when we arrived.

These Cortland, NY homeowners were ready to leave their outdated tub behind in favor of a more accessible and sleeker walk-in shower. With travel plans already booked for a well-earned vacation, they handed the reins over to us to take care of the transformation while they were away — talk about trusting the process!

On returned from their vacation, they were greeted not only by their brand-new walk-in shower, but also a personalized note from installer Stacey with care instructions and a warm “welcome home.” It was a small touch that left a big impression — we even received compliments on Stacey’s attention to detail.

This shower had begun leaking intermittently, and the pivot door had slowly drifted out of alignment. Where the original corner shower had visually boxed in the space, the glass enclosure allowed the entire bathroom to feel dramatically different — larger and brighter while still maintaining a durable waterproof system designed for everyday use.

The new flooring, vanity, and glass shower enclosure transformed the room from a dated master bath into a space that felt bright, clean, and modern.
