Growing up meant knowing that nothing was handed to you. If you wanted something, you put in the effort. Kids picked up part-time jobs, did chores for neighbors, and figured out what a dollar was really worth. That attitude followed them into adulthood.
Hard work wasn’t just assumed, it was admired. It built pride and a sense of earning what you had. Those lessons shaped a generation that believed in effort and sticking with it. And even now, many still hold onto that way of thinking.
