Story time.

Last week, I was at Good Gracious looking for a few items before heading out of town for a friend’s birthday celebration.

While shopping, I asked Grace and Paula what were their thoughts on me putting Christmas decorations on my house? I was worried that it would be putting lipstick 💄 on a pig 🐖 as it is still a work in progress. We had a laugh and they thought I should. So I made a plan when I returned from my trip to decorate the house today and over the weekend.

Imagine my surprise when I arrived at my house with it decorated so beautifully!! I mean look at this!!

My lovely mother knew I wanted the house decorated and hired Paula and Grace to give me an early Christmas present. So sweet and I love it! It was such a nice surprise!

Today we met with Jessica Parr, Professor of Costume Design at Northwestern State University and her daughter, Vivienne. We donated boxes of clothing and hats. Most were in poor condition and not museum quality however she thought they can learn from the items and even make patterns! It was very exciting to hear these garments can be appreciated and used when I thought they were beyond saving. We are so grateful!

Parr had an exhibit hosted in 2019 from her book, “Forties and Fifties Fashion for the Stage.” Check out the article below.
