Everyone knows that I try to prevent anyone from having bad experiences with any contractor not just our business. I warn people hoping that no one has a bad experience. Well here is a big one that we have heard about. If you are having work done and you get proof of insurance from the individual or company doing your work, PLEASE I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH PLEASE make sure the people doing the work are the policy holder on the insurance. There are individuals out there selling the use of their insurance to people that do not have insurance for whatever reason. Not only is this fraud not to mention highly unethical in my opinion, but you as a homeowner run the extreme risk that if something goes wrong with your work the insurance company is not going to pay for it if the work was not done by the policy holders company. As a business owner I never want to see anyone be taken advantage of or be put in a position where they are not protected as they are led to believe. As a homeowner I en outage everyone to be vigilant when hiring anyone. Spring is here and work is picking up for our line of work and I just wanted to give people the heads up that I would want.

It kills me for the reasoning behind this post. If you have a contractor that is going to do work for you, before you give them money HAVE A CONTRACT!!!! I cannot stress this enough. We once again met with someone who was taken by someone. I literally cried with these people. The thing that makes me the maddest is this is not the first time the same person has done this. I have to say that even without a contract you do have legal recourse. I absolutely hate that there are people out there like this. Please be careful !!!!
