Just got in from a long day on a main water break for a municipal customer in IL. Nearly 12 hours on site and 3 hours of travel time. Unusual, yes. Undoable, no. Fun, no. Necessary, yes. 50 customers out of water made it that way.
To those asking about my retirement, relax. I know I look old, but I might surprise you. What has been lost in speed has been made up in efficiency. To those competitors spreading the word that I am retiring, even to the extent of passing the word to one of my primary suppliers in IL. just know that retirement is not on the docket, unless or until God almighty redirects me. Some folks must really be desperate to see me step out of the industry. This has been happening for awhile now, so, I guess, I live in someone’s head, particularly in the IL market, although it has happened in MO too.
I will retire when the Lord pulls my plug, either through medical reasons, fatal or just by dehabilitating me to the place where I can’t do it anymore. Only God opens and closes the doors of life, and no one, young or old knows from day to day. As it stands at this moment, I am completely capable and enjoy what I do. That said, if I keel over and can’t work anymore my family or I myself will notify you. (Because again, no one knows the date or the hour) Until then give us a call.
