Out here in the freezing cold weather tossing the jack hammer back and forth to get through the frozen ground in order to be able to dig to fix this sewer. Ground is frozen about 2 feet down. But we are out here grinding away.

Out here sweating it out today fixing someone else’s mistake. Now it’s done properly and works like a dream now. Someone else used the wrong coupling and caused it to drop then the roots because of it only made things worse. Now we have a non-shear coupling on each side so now what happened before won’t happen again.

We are out here on this beautiful day replacing a sewer for a customer. We installed approximately 85 feet of new pvc sewer pipe with a cleanout. This picture is us during the backfill process of the job. We try to clean the yard to be as clean and as level as possible to make it look like we were never there. Preventative rodding maintenance goes a long way when you know you have tree roots in your line. We installed a 6” outside cleanout station last year for this customer and rodded out the line then when we installed the cleanout. One year later doing preventative rodding maintenance due to the amount of roots in the line last year. Pulled out roughly the size of a basketball amount of tree roots today. Just goes to show you how quickly roots can grow in a years time. Now eventually this line will end up having to be replaced because the roots will come back worse and worse each year. But for now preventative rodding maintenance once a year for the next 5 or so years will take care of everything.

Another one down! Unfortunately wasn’t able to get a good picture so decided not to try and take the picture. But the 6” claytile sewer pipe that runs in between these two big maple trees in the parkway was collapsed due to tree roots. We located the exact spot where it was collapsed and dug down to it. We replaced the area with pvc and connected to the good claytile with non-shear couplings. Everything went smooth and turned out great! Now the sewer is like new again.

We did a repair Wednesday. The pipe was broken due to tree roots as you can see here. There are some tree roots you just can’t cut through with a rod especially when they look like this. The rod wouldn’t have went through because the pipe was broken and if the pipe wasn’t broken a rod still can’t get through something like this. But now we have removed the broken pipe and everything is now fixed. Everything turned out well and our customer is happy and satisfied.
