In 1973, after just moving to Florida Jim Colman Sr, a heating engineer up north, saw a need for decent drinking water filtration. As such he decided to make his own custom water filter he named the "CUSTOM".It went through some changes through out the years experimenting with different configurations and materials. Each year when the filter was due for service you would get the updated version. H
e also decided to further his knowledge in treatment and kept the filters as a sideline as he worked in various water and wastewater plants building up to the obtainment of the highest state operator certifications. He also in his free time helped others to pass certification exams. Some now are actually utility plant supervisors and managers. His company was not to be like the high pressure sales companies who were pushing equipment not as promised at terribly high prices. Bur a place where people can be directed by a knowledgeable staff at reasonable prices for the benefit of the customer. As time went on the Custom was no longer necessary. Good filters were being made by reputable companies that finally could be recommended to the public. His son, who built up quite a water treatment resume of his own, requested that it was time to make WPP a full time venture in the early 80's. Now our third generation has taken over the reins, having grown up within the company,of which we are certain will take us to greater heights which included our most recent move to our new location at 2040 NW 55th Ave in Margate
