Arizona may not have snowstorms, but we have monsoons, dust storms, extreme wind, heat, and expansive soils.
Every region has its own structural challenges.
Designs need to match local conditions not just a price tag.
The buildings shown are from a recent snowstorm back East. The collapse appears to be related to excessive clear span and inadequate structural support, with snow load exposing design deficiencies rather than being the sole cause.
This is a good reminder that out-of-state building designs must be properly engineered for the environment they’re built in
