Chris and I are the owners of Reclaimed Karma, a boutique design + build firm based out of Marietta, Georgia. We pride ourselves on being a husband and wife team that specializes in kitchen and bath renovations, light commercial renovations, custom woodworking, interior design and residential/commercial project management. A few years back, we were given a huge opportunity to film a nationwide TV

show with the DIY Network called “Reclaimed Reno”. Since then, we have also had the opportunity to partner with companies such as Habitat for Humanity, Home Depot, Varathane, Extra Space Storage and Weaber Lumber just to name a few. When we aren’t in the field creating and renovating, you can catch us across social media DIYing in our workshop and documenting our lives every step of the way. Chris and I are firm believers in good karma and we knew it had to be included in our name. We always strive to do right by people because we believe what goes around comes around. We are so thankful to be able to love what we do and do what we love together.

It’s interesting how a home doesn’t really come alive all at once. The magic exists in the details. The mix of materials, textures, finishes, and those quiet little moments that somehow make everything feel intentional and complete.🖤

This journey has been such an exercise in layering old + new, warm + moody, polished + imperfect. And little by little, our Modern Cottage vision is becoming home. 🖤

It’s those little architectural details that take a home from good to unforgettable.

That’s exactly why we partnered with ChamClad for all of our exterior accent features.

🖤 Charred Black on the back sunroom gave us the bold contrast and additional layer of texture we were looking for against our Onyx siding and Magnolia Bay brick.

🤎 Harvest Walnut on the front porch ceilings instantly warmed up our entryways—and we love that we don’t have to worry about carpenter bees
🐝 making themselves at home in our porch ceiling anymore.

🏡 To finish it all off, we wrapped our existing porch posts with ChamClad’s Charred Black Quick Click Column & Beam System, giving the front of the house that elevated custom look we were after.

The installation was fast and straightforward, and knowing we don’t have to worry about rot, fading, or constant maintenance makes it even better.

Wausau Supply just touched down in ATL all the way from Wisconsin… and it’s install day!

Today we’re installing ’s pre-finished siding system, and honestly, it’s one of the smartest exterior systems we’ve worked with.

Imagine installing the very last piece of siding… and you’re done. No painting. No caulking. Did you get what I just said… no exposed nail heads to fill. No corner boards to caulk and paint no siding seams to caulk. NADA!!!

The entire system is engineered to create perfectly consistent lap spacing around the house, taking the guesswork out of installation. It’s clear they’ve thought through every detail of installing pre-finished siding.

Some decisions just feel right.

We chose Magnolia Bay brick from North Georgia Brick paired with Southern Ivory mortar, and it gave the house exactly what it was missing—warmth, texture, and that timeless character we’ve been chasing from day one.

Once demo was complete, Cat Contractors LLC got to work, and we couldn’t be happier with their precision and attention to detail. The herringbone brick on the porches added the perfect little design surprise, while the scraped and cleaned mortar application kept everything feeling old-world, handcrafted, and still modern.

The Modern Cottage is really starting to come together, and we’re loving every bit of it.

Huge thank you to the team for helping bring this vision to life.

We had so much fun choosing our Diamond Kote Siding System color! Ya’ll showed up with the opinions! Onyx🖤 was the favorite, with Emerald and Cascade close behind.

But once we saw the cottage fully blacked out, we knew it needed more than one bold color. It needed texture. Depth. Something timeless to pair with Diamond Kote’s 30-year no-fade warranty.

So we headed to North Georgia Brick — the largest independent brick company in the U.S., headquartered right here just north of Atlanta — to start layering in that old-world, artisan feel we love.

We brought our siding samples, walked the showroom, and narrowed it down to a few brick combinations.

Now we need your help again:

When we chose Diamond Kote Siding System for our exterior facade, we made sure to used the same process we'd run for every client project. We took their design quiz, got a personalized color palette, explored different design options with their Home Visualizer, and ordered real samples (which arrived fast 👏🏽).

Our favorite part? How simple Diamond Kote made the entire process, and we loved being able to see the actual samples in the environment of our home, at different times of day. Screen colors just don't tell the full story.

What a blessing it was to be invited to attend The Home Depot UnMatched Content Creator Event right here in Atlanta, Georgia. 🧡

We got to spend the week surrounded by The Home Depot’s incredible team and so many amazing creators. Some creators we already knew, and so many we have followed and admired from afar. Getting to connect, share stories, and be in the same room with people who are just as passionate about this industry was truly special.

The Home Depot absolutely set it out! From the hospitality, the food, the networking, and the exclusive insight into new products, to giving us the best seats in the house and an unforgettable experience at our very first FIFA games. Every detail was intentional!

More than anything, The Home Depot made sure we felt seen, valued, and appreciated as creators and as partners in this space.

We left inspired, grateful, and even more excited for what’s ahead. Thank you, The Home Depot, for such an incredible UnMatched experience. 🧡

Running a design-build firm we spend a lot of time researching the materials we use in our projects. How they’re made, how they perform, how they install, and whether we’d be proud to stand behind the product for years to come.

Because the truth is, good design only matters if the materials behind it can hold up.

When it came time to choose siding for our own home, we looked at it the same way we would for a client. We wanted more than curb appeal. We wanted a complete exterior system that could give us the look we were after, the durability we expect, and the confidence that we were making the right long-term decision.

20 years. Whew. That number hits different.

As Buildertrend celebrates 20 years of helping builders and remodelers create better systems, we’re looking back on our own 20-year ride too.

From working separate careers, falling in love, getting married, becoming a family with Caleb, buying our first home, and learning very quickly what “house poor” meant… 😂

That little house changed everything!

Refinishing furniture turned into renovating our own home. That somehow turned into a national TV show. And eventually, Reclaimed Karma.

Together, we built this thing from the ground up and Buildertrend became the missing piece to our chaos.
