Do you need more hot water, but don’t have the space? Call us about installing a thermostatic mixing valve. You could get a minimum of 20% and upwards to 50% increase in hot water. This device works by allowing you to turn your water heater up about 20 degrees (140 degrees) and then mixing cold water to adjust to non scalding temps. when demand needs it. Homeowner had Gas leaking from a new water heater!!

A customer called about a new gas water heater he installed himself. After he installed the heater there was a gas smell that he couldn’t locate . I got to work and immediately picked up a gas leak with my gas leak detector next to the control valve. To eliminate a good amount of fittings and possible problems I decided to replace some questionable piping. The leak detector again picked up gas in the same area next to the gas control valve. The only item left was the new gas control valve. I replaced the gas control valve and no more leaks. There is always something new popping up to troubleshoot when it comes to plumbing, but we have the right tools and experience to figure it out. Give us a call if you need help!

Did you know there is a solution to not being able to vent a standard water heater out of the roof. This is one of the options and it is called a power vent water heater. They can vent to an exterior wall similar to tankless water heaters. I don’t get to replace these as often as a standard tank and thought I would share some info. This install was pretty straight forward, but found out the old unit was most likely leaking fumes through a condensate line that was never installed for 12yr.s.😬These condensate lines also must be looped and water added to prevent fumes leaking through. In case your trying to find my loop it’s a little hard to see, but it’s on the side of the water heater. These run about double the price of a standard water heater, but does solve a problem.

I just realized we haven’t posted much lately so here you go….. We installed this natural gas tankless water heater today at a very nice lady’s house. Most are vented with pvc anymore, but since she had a good size whole in her roof from her old we went with this option. These units are a little less expensive and if you don’t need much these are perfect. If sized properly you will have endless hot water heater. Let’s just say I like things organized. This would be what you would see if I installed a water heater at your house. At this house I had to replace a water heater that was rusting very badly on the inside. The water from the water heater was starting to stain everything. The sad part was that it barely made it to 7yrs. They don’t make them like they used to definitely applies here. Typically 10-15 years is the life span anymore. It is becoming more rare to find a water heater over 20yrs old. Anybody have a real old water heater that’s pushing 30yr or 30+?
