This is an open letter to any construction contractors that I know. Home advisor is a rip off! The leads they give you they charge you for regardless of whether you call the potential clients or not. The salesman that signed me up to home advisor did not explain this. In as little as one month I was charged for $450 in leads I did not want. Or was ready for, I even told the salesman that I was booked for 6 weeks and didn’t need much work Becuase I’m a one man crew! They do have an app to control the leads you get but it is not easy to use and it isn’t really explained to you. You can only shut them off for a few days with the app at a time. The rest of time you will be charged for any lead they give you wether or not you accept them. In addition I found out that the leads I paid for went to every contractor that also uses the service. So I did bid on one job that I had time for that I got the lead from through Home Advisor and it was only half a room that I bid on and wasn’t worth the trip. Also I found out she had other contractors coming to bid the same day and they also found her using Home Advisor. So the leads they charged me for (wether or not I called any of them btw) were also being bid on by other multiple contractors with the same service which means they have saturated the market to the point that I would not be able to do any of these jobs unless I did them at a very low price. I have never been ripped off this bad by anyone in my life. Now I am stuck with a huge bill and instead of making me more money for my business, they helpers to ensure to put me out of business. Thanks a lot HomeAdvisor I’ll be telling everyone about your service and how well it works for me!!
