🎉 Happy Retirement, John Baker! 🎉

After more than 20 years with Baysinger Architects and a career in architecture spanning decades, John Baker is officially beginning a well-earned retirement.

John has been part of our firm since nearly its inception, and his impact reaches far beyond the projects he helped bring to life. Throughout his career, he has served as a mentor, leader, and trusted advisor to countless colleagues. His wisdom, dedication, and generosity have influenced many, including former owner Michael Baysinger, who often credits John as someone who helped shape his professional journey.

John's contributions to our firm, our clients, and our communities are immeasurable. He has consistently led by example, sharing his knowledge and passion for architecture while helping others grow along the way.

While John says the door is not completely closed and he may be persuaded to return for the occasional special project or busy season, we are excited for him to spend more time enjoying the things that matter most with family and friends.

Monday Spotlight 🌟

It's Football Season, arguably the best season of the year! The smell of popcorn, the sound of the marching band, and the excitement of the game, what's not to love?

We're throwing it back to a project we completed a few years ago when we had the privilege of working with Fairfield High School on their new ticket booth and concession/rest room building. It's always rewarding to see our projects become gathering places where communities come together to support their teams and create lasting memories.

What a summer!

It has taken the dedication of countless people to bring these school improvement projects to the finish line. As students and staff head back to school, we'd like to thank the district and community for allowing Baysinger Architects to play a role in enhancing your local schools.

We are proud of what has been accomplished together and can't wait to see these spaces filled with students again.

From major renovation projects and HVAC improvements to technology upgrades, campus maintenance and a new five-year strategic plan, Superintendent Becky Moss said district employees have spent the summer preparing buildings and programs for the 2026-27 school year.

Monday Project Spotlight🌟

Adams School recently received a major upgrade with the replacement of windows throughout the entire building. Designed to maximize natural light, the facility's large windows create bright, welcoming spaces that enhance the learning environment while providing beautiful outdoor views.

Natural daylight has been shown to support student well-being, improve focus, and create a more positive atmosphere for both students and staff. We're proud to help create spaces where education can thrive.

Thank you to Marion Unit 2 School District for allowing us to be part of improvements that brighten both the building and the educational experience for generations of students to come!

Monday Project Spotlight🌟

The FBO terminal at Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois - MWAis one of our team's favorite recent projects. This exciting transformation included a 6,000 Sq. Ft. terminal addition to an existing hangar, which also received a little TLC.

From the design process to the finished space, this project was a rewarding experience for our team. We always appreciate the opportunity to work on projects that strengthen our region, support local growth, and create lasting value for the communities we serve.

✈️ We're proud to have played a role in helping elevate this important gateway to Southern Illinois.

Imagine if this was your office. It could be! EThOs at The Citadel was already pretty cool, now it has been tastefully modernized while preserving its history. This is a great video from the Ribbon Cutting (shoutout to BFW/Marcum for it) and now you can go experience it for yourself.
