Forth and final coat of stain went on. The weather has been giving us a hard time. But I think this 125 year old five legged poplar table has been worth waiting on. A lovely (approximately) 1902 five legged oak table came into shop to be restored. You don’t see many colonial style tables of this era. Thus the four smooth columns surrounding the fifth middle leg. She has lost her leafs some where in her travels. But they will be replaced so she can accommodate her new family. The classy 1940-50 Imperial desk got her hardware today. She is close to going to her new home. She was made from warm old walnut veneer with a solid white oak frame. All her working pieces (drawer guilds ect) are hard maple. She was built to be used many generations. She was a fun piece to restore.
