Another shop upgrade wrapped up.
This garage had an existing floor drain, but getting water from the rest of the shop to it was the problem. We installed a new trench drain system running through the center of the garage and tied it directly into the existing drain basin.
This one involved quite a bit more than simply setting a drain in place:
• Laid out and marked the new drain location
• Saw cut and removed the existing concrete
• Excavated the trench and opened up the existing drain
• Set and leveled the new channel drain for proper flow
• Tied the system into the existing floor drain
• Braced everything securely before pouring
• Replaced and finished the concrete around the entire system
• Installed the removable grates for a clean finished product
Now instead of water sitting and spreading across the shop floor, it has a direct path right down the center and into the existing drainage system.
A lot of work disappears once the concrete goes back in—but the progress pictures show what goes into doing a job like this properly.
