Escape the noise and find a moment of peace while you watch this video.

The team was captivated by this blooming crabapple with its petals falling like snow in June.

We hope you find it as relaxing as we did 😌🌱

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

We’d like to take this time to give an exciting update that has had some presence in the local news lately. The 100-year anniversary of the Barnes-Hecker Mine tragedy is in November of this year and we are proud to announce that we are one of the lucky contractors that are taking on the commemoration project in Ely township. Stay tuned for more updates and photos soon!

This month we’re gonna focus on when to reference your USDA Hardiness Zone to pick the right plant versus when to reference your Eco-Region. Did you know there’s a difference?

USDA Hardiness Zones focus on one key factor: average minimum winter temperature. ⭐️These are best used when you’re asking: Can this plant survive winter here?

EPA Eco-Regions look at a more broad range of factors like: climate patterns, soil types, rainfall, elevation, and native plant communities.
⭐️These are best used when you’re asking: Will this plant thrive long-term in this landscape?

Think of it this way:
Hardiness Zones tell you if a plant can live here while Eco-Regions help determine if a plant will flourish here.

Great landscapes rely on both-because your property deserves informed care, not guesswork 🌱

When it comes to your landscape, don’t mess around those that run on guesswork.

We spend time attending trainings, workshops, and industry events so we can bring the best, most up-to-date practices back to your property. Every plant, every season, and every landscape is different, which is why informed care matters.

Your landscape deserves thoughtful decisions, proven techniques, and expert attention- not guesswork. We’re proud to keep growing so your landscape can too. 🌱

Happy Earth Day from the Plant Theory Landscaping Team!

Today is a reminder that the small choices we make every day add up to a big impact. From planting pollinator-friendly gardens and reducing waste, to choosing native plants and caring for the spaces around us- every action helps protect the place we call home.

We’re grateful to work in an industry that allows us to nurture the land, support biodiversity, and create outdoor spaces that thrive for years to come. Here’s to celebrating our planet today and every day 🌱

Ghost pipe (Monotropa uniflora) is one of the few plants that doesn’t photosynthesize. Instead of making its own food from sunlight, it gets nutrients through a fascinating underground relationship with fungi connected to nearby trees. That’s why it appears pale white and almost translucent- like something straight out of a forest fairy tale.
