Aaaaaand that's a wrap folks. Fifteenth annual Handmade Market in the books 🙌

Thanks to everyone who rolled with the spotty internet, shuttle waits, limited and squishy parking and....well, actually those were the main bees in our bonnet this weekend 🐝 Despite these logistical challenges we still had a great time, and were blessed with amazing weather, delicious food, jaw droppingly impressive handmade and homegrown goods, toe tappin' tunes, ear to ear grins everywhere we looked and the most generous, big hearted customers a farm full of makers could ever ask for 😍

Thanks so much to everyone who helped make the show happen and to all who came to shop and connect with us! The warmth and support we receive from our amazing patrons is beyond heartwarming 🧡

We'll post a few more pix from the show in the coming days, and we'll see you next year at our long awaited return to our beloved home, 🥰

What a gorgeous weekend! We had a blast yesterday - EXCEPT for a fritzy Starlink. We’re searching for one to borrow (message us if you have one to lend!), but please bring cash if you can - it will help our vendors a lot!

We can still take cards with some old school + creative solutions, but cash sales make things a little easier.

And, thanks for carpooling and taking the shuttle!

We loooooove and will treasure our memories there but - boy will we be glad to get back to next year. Craft shows don’t usually happen way out in the country for a reason! 🤠😂

Thanks for rolling with us during these ‘recovery year’ shows y’all ~ your support, kind words and smiling faces have meant THE WORLD to us as we have navigated new logistical challenges with this temporary location each year.

It’s going to be a gorgeous day - can’t wait to see you! 🌞

A melange of memories from the last few shows 🥰

We’re excited y’all! It’s looking like rain tomorrow morning so please come prepared! Vendors will all be in the barn or big tents, but you’ll want waterproof boots and light rain jackets and umbrellas for milling around etc.

And pleeeeeaaaaase take the shuttle from Mars Hill Ingles if you can! We thought we’d have oodles of parking across the street but the farmer who had promised his field is feeling more hesitant because he recently planted it and also because of the rain. Ah, craft shows in Appalachia 👩‍🌾🤷🏽‍♀️ we have an amazing parking team working to make this as smooth as possible and we do have on sight parking but it’s limited. Please come in a full car or shuttle in if you can!

Also a reminder that there is a suggested $5 entrance fee this year, with a third of the proceeds going to rebuild efforts at our beloved 💕

See you this weekend kids! 🥳

Eeeek, we’re getting excited y’all! The pace is quickening at as the big tents go up today and all manor of preparation is beginning for this weekend’s festivities 🤗

We’re delighted to welcome and her tea tent this year ~ the perfect place to take a break from the hustle bustle of the market and enjoy a spot of tea and a moment of calm 🫖😌

And, in addition to the hearty lunches they’ll be serving at their food truck, will also have a Soup Tent this year! 🍲 🎪 We just got the menu from them a few days ago ~

🌶️ New Mexican Style Posole ~ A house made local pork broth stew with hominy, chile caribe, fresh lime, cilantro, purple cabbage and cheddar cheese

🐓 Not Your Mama’s Chicken Stew ~ A rich chicken stew using local butternut squash, local carrots, local beets and lots of fresh herbs

🥔 Potato Leak Soup ~ *vegetarian

YUM 😋

We’ll also have mulled spiced cider 🍎 this year, and of course flaky pastries and strong coffee! 🥐☕️

We’ll have some local musicians playing Irish music Saturday afternoon, and probably some old time on Sunday 🎻

Looks like we’ll get a little rain 🌧️ Saturday morning though the temps will thankfully stay mild - please plan ahead and dress appropriately, and bring an umbrella just in case.

Many long time market goers love adding extra magic sprinkles to the year ahead with calendars from Abacus Corvus and Jacqueline Maloney 🦄 Some of us studio artists get one of each every year - one for our homes and one for our studios 🥰

Jo is the local half of Abacus Corvus (along with her sibling Corina who lives out of state), and will have a bevy of prints, cards, calendars, stickers and magnets of their gorgeous paintings, along with their newest offering, the magical Wild Chorus oracle deck ✨

Jackie will also have prints and cards of her rich, nuanced and evocative paintings, along with plenty of her 2026 Beheld calendars at the show this weekend.

We’ll add that this year’s poster artist, the oh-so-talented Annie Fain Barralon will also have calendars for sale, featuring her dreamy watercolors 😍

See you in a few days folks! November 22 + 23 at 🐓

Hi folks ~ we’ve updated this info to reflect a couple of changes. If you’ve already read this info in the last few days please check out the shuttle + parking updates! The pic after the shuttle info slide is looking at where the shuttle stop will be at Ingles, and there will be a sign there. The on site parking may be more limited than we thought, so in preparation for that possibility we are beseeching y’all to take the shuttle unless you have a full car and/or a disability.

Everything else is the same ~

⭐️ Suggested $5 admission for adults, no one turned away for lack of funds. This is a first for us, and we know it won’t sit well with everyone! We’re not wild about it, but as we all know inflation is, well - intense! We also have some extra expenses at this location, the tent rental and insurance being the biggest. We plan to donate a portion of this fee to for their rebuild efforts.

⭐ Please bring cash for shopping! This helps vendors reduce credit card processing fees, and minimizes complications if/when the wifi gets spotty

⭐️ Just like last year, NO dogs 🙅‍♀️🐶 please, bring your own mugs + bags + water if you can, and check the weather before you come and dress appropriately! 🌞🌨️

Did we miss anything? Have a question about any of this? Please leave it in the comments and we will address it - someone else might have the same one!

Sturdy waxed canvas, impeccable design and patterns that whisk you away to far corners of the world. There is something about bags, purses, and pouches that make us want to put on our best traveling linen and jetset across the globe. Or… go out for brunch this Sunday ✨

You can find Rachel and her gorgeous wares (along with those of several other amazing local artists) in her cheery shop on Main Street in Mars Hill Wednesday - Saturday. She has generously offered her space for market meetings and as a pick up spot for cards and posters for the last couple of years, and the list of her kindnesses to the Madison County and maker communities is a mile long 🥰 We’re so grateful for big hearted folks like Rachel in our market family! 🫶🏽😍🫶🏽

See you at the show next weekend! ✨ November 22 + 23 ✨

The countdown is on y’all! The show is a week from today, and we couldn’t be more excited 🤗

Of course an outdoor show in late November is a bit of a crap chute, elements-wise, and we’re keeping a close eye on the weather. As of now temps are looking mild and partly sunny, with a small chance of a little rain. We’ll take it! Hopefully this doesn’t change too much but please plan ahead and wear/bring what you’ll need to be comfortable. We’ll have you covered with coffee, mulled cider, pastries, soup and yummy lunches ☕️ 🍎 🥐 🍲

See you next weekend! November 22 + 23 at Odonata Farm 🐓

Our apothecary game is STRONG this year y’all! 🙌🏽🌱🙌🏽

The term ‘self care’ may have historically conjured some judgments of vanity and self indulgence, but this has been shifting in recent years. We’re seeing an uptick in folks who are prioritizing taking responsibility for their own health, and doing so holistically. Far from being selfish, nourishing one’s body and spirit with tonic herbs and daily wellness routines helps to make a happy, healthy human. This is how we show up in life as our best selves, and how we keep our families and communities vibrant and strong 🥰 🌱👶✨🌿💪🌱👵🏻🌿😍

Visit our skilled herbalists at the show next weekend and pick up a few goodies to add to your home apothecary and also to gifts for your dear ones. You’ll find:

✨Tinctures, teas and skincare from Herbs

✨Herbal honeys, syrups, stew blends and body care products from Sister of Mother Earth

✨Herbal remedies and deep nervous system tonics from Wise Earth Botanicals

If you’re looking for some new adornments this season, be sure to check out the lovingly crafted jewelry from Laura Lau Klein and Lisa Colby at the show this month. These brilliant metalsmiths each have such a unique style, managing to marry an air of whimsy with timeless beauty.

Side note - how cute is this pic of Lisa in the auditorium last summer? 😍 It reminds us how excited we’ll be to return to MHS for the show next year! 🥳

Today we celebrate this year’s poster artist, Annie Fain Liden. We’re willing to wager that Annie Fain’s dreamy watercolors contain more delightful details than any painting you have ever seen 😍 A strong statement, but we’re sticking to it! Spend a few minutes gazing at one of her magical images and you’ll feel yourself filling with awe, curiosity and childlike wonder 🦄 Don’t miss stopping by her booth in a couple weeks and picking out a special print or two, a stack of cards and a 2026 calendar to stay inspired all year. ✨
