📣 City Announces New Assistant Director
Demond Williams has been named a City of Marshall Assistant Director of Public Works.
Interim Director Doug Box made this announcement during National Public Works Week. In his new role, Williams will manage public works infrastructure for water distribution and wastewater collection. He joins Assistant Directors Kervin Crawford and Cory Owen in leading the operations of the department of 66 full-time men and women.
Williams has worked as the general superintendent since 2018, overseeing operations across all Public Works divisions including Distribution and Collection, Street Maintenance, Water Billing and Drainage.
He has been a crew chief in the Street Department, leading teams in road repair, drainage work and maintenance. His career also includes positions with Sanford Frieling, A&B Valve, Select Pipeline Services and Martin Lake Construction.
Williams holds licenses issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in water distribution and wastewater management. He is a 2000 graduate of Marshall High School and served in the United States Navy, where he was trained in diesel engine maintenance and mechanical systems.
