Curbside Vac of Marshall sold
While the popular yard waste pickup service will continue, Curbside Vac of Marshall has been sold, said owner Larry Magrath.
Quintin Arends of Marshall is the new owner and has named the service Streetside Vac. He can be reached at (507) 530-9228. Customers may also call/text the usual number and they will be redirected.
“I’m happy to see this unique service continue,” Magrath said. “Streetside Vac is an affordable and easy way for people to maintain their property.”
Magrath started the private-pay yard waste pickup service in 2004. Services have included the pickup of any yard waste that goes to the city’s composting site, primarily leaves in the fall. The vacuum service requests that customers rake their leaves to the curb and schedule a pickup time for removal.

It's transition time here at Marshall's Curbside Vac this year! Service is continuing so please don't hesitate to contact me as you always have and I will get you to the new person. Leaf pickup and yard waste pickup will continue as it has since 2004 when I started picking up leaves at the curb using a powerful vacuum. You rake. I take. I started the service here in Marshall after moving here from Monticello, Ind. In Indiana it's common for the city to provide this valuable service of picking up leaves at the curb using a vacuum. It's what cities do because it keeps the leaves out of the drainage system. Here in Marshall it's private pay as you know for the vacuum service and it's not expensive and it's oh-so-very convenient. I thank my loyal customers who call me each year. Please contact me again this fall as you always have and continue this great service. More details to follow.

Scott Kuecker of rural Marshall has me all set up the right way! Leaves lined up like soldiers ready for inspection. He writes me a check and then pulls a Columbo: “Oh, just one more thing.” There’s another line of leaves over here to pick up. 🤦‍♂️ Thanks doc!

This is what chain-link fences are good for! Catching corn leaves. 🤔 At Canby the Lancer athletic complex got inundated from the nearby corn field! Four loads later it looks better but still a lot left to deal with before first pitch in the spring.

Just for arguments sake we should all say it’s winter now. The calendar says it is. So, this should be the last leaf pickup. The machine will be put away soon so contact me this week if needed. (Keep my number handy for next spring/summer yard waste removal needs from grass clippings to trimmings, storm debris, etc.)
