Effective 8:00pm tonight, 1/31/26, Carteret County Emergency Management and Communications Center have enacted a Delayed Response Operational Protocol for emergency response due to extreme weather conditions and impassable roadways throughout the County. Non-Critical/Non-Emergent Fire and EMS calls will be placed on a Delayed Response list until conditions improve for safe response.

Critical and Emergency calls will continue to be dispatched as they are received, however some delays can be expected as Fire, EMS, and LEO units are responding.
