Message from Cotuit Water Dept

ATTENTION COTUIT RESIDENTS

WATER MAIN FLUSHING NOTICE
The Cotuit Water Department will be flushing water mains (weather permitting):

March 30, 2026 – June 1, 2026
Monday through Friday
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Water main flushing is part of a preventive maintenance program conducted by the Water Department to help maintain water quality throughout the distribution system.

During flushing, temporary discoloration of the water may occur. This is an unavoidable effect of flushing and is aesthetic in nature only; it is not considered a health hazard. Signs will be posted in areas where flushing is taking place.

Flushing in one area can affect water conditions in surrounding neighborhoods, so residents throughout the village should be aware that temporary discoloration may occur even if our operators are not working on their street.

What Residents Should Do
• Avoid laundering between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM in areas where flushing is taking place.
• Set aside water for drinking and cooking in advance if you are in the flushing area.
• Check water clarity before use by running the cold water tap until it clears.
• Do not run hot water until the cold water runs clear, as sediment can enter and settle in hot water tanks and appliances.
• Avoid using washing machines or dishwashers until the water runs clear.

Daily flushing locations will be posted on the Cotuit Fire District website at cotuitfiredistrict.org and on Facebook at facebook.com/Cotuit-Water-Department. Customers who have an email address on file with the Water Department will also receive a daily notification when flushing is scheduled in their area.

I am reaching out to you today in my capacity as a member of the Board of Directors of Cotuit Center for the Arts.

On September 15 our cycling team will be participating in the Second Summer Cycle event and today I am asking for your support by donating in any amount meaningful to you.

I support the Center because the arts are essential. This is the premise upon which Cotuit Center for the Arts exists. Research bears out the undeniably powerful effect of color and sound, stories and learning, on the human brain and heart. The Center offers the highest quality of these in their award-winning gallery and eclectic concerts, sold-out dramatic and musical theater productions and robust classes. Please help me sustain CCftA now. And for days and years to come.

Our 17-person team has an incredible opportunity as one of the Center’s donors has challenged them with a $25,000 matching grant. They are raising money as a team, and that means for every dollar we raise, that contribution is automatically doubled. So if you give $100 in support of the ride the Center will get $200. If you give $10 in support of the ride the Center will get $20. It's a win-win for everyone!
