Need some dog training wisdom from our community! 🐾🐕

Taking a quick break from electrical talk to ask our local dog owners a question.

Meet Kelsier (1.5 years old) and Rufus. We’ve had Kelsier since he was 8 weeks old, and despite weekly public socialization outings, he gets intensely scared and submissive around strangers.

Meanwhile, Rufus is the exact opposite—hyper-social and outgoing to a fault.

We're trying a new strategy: pairing Kelsier with Rufus on our outings to see if having a calm, fearless buddy helps show him that people aren't so scary.

For anyone who has rehabilitated or trained a high-anxiety/timid dog:

The real reason to always pull electrical permits in Snohomish County! ⚡️🛡️

Many property owners assume permits are just extra costs and paperwork. In reality, permitted work is your greatest insurance policy.

Why permits matter on every project:

Two Sets of Eyes: Even experienced electricians benefit from an independent inspection to verify every bonding jumper, ground, and connection.

Insurance Protection: Unpermitted work that causes a fault or hazard can risk your property insurance coverage.

Resale Value: Clean permit records mean zero hold-ups or renegotiations when selling your property.

We handle all permitting and inspection coordination from start to finish.

Staying sharp on code: Sizing bonding jumpers right! ⚡️🛠️

Even with years in the trade, code nuance matters on commercial transformer setups.

On our greenhouse project in Arlington, we made sure all final bonding details were 100% dialed in before final inspection:
🔌 Supply-Side Bonding Jumper: Sized directly from NEC Table 250.102(C)(1) to match the 4/0 service feeders instead of standard equipment ground sizing.
🔌 Structural Bonding: Tied into the commercial greenhouse metal frame posts.
🔌 Gas Piping: Direct bonding jumper installed and secured to the gas line.

We take pride in doing work that is transparent, safe, and built to current standards.

The Great Weatherhead Debate: Proper orientation & drip loops! ⚡️🌧️

While running an underground 100-amp subpanel feed for a new dog boarding facility in Lake Stevens, we took a close look at this overhead service mast setup.

There’s a common discussion in the electrical trade about which way a weatherhead should point:
🛠️ Facing Away From The Line: When Pacific Northwest storms, wind, or sagging branches pull on the overhead service drop, facing the head away helps preserve a natural drip loop so water cannot migrate into the conduit.
🛠️ Relieving Tension: We are coordinating with Snohomish County PUD to re-support the utility drop so mechanical strain stays on the mast clamp, not on the electrical conductors.

Proper planning and weatherproofing protect your home from water intrusion and service faults.

Mystery solved on the job site today! 🧹⚡️🤣

There’s a running joke in the trades that electricians don't know how a broom works.

Well, I proved everyone wrong today: it makes a top-tier wire spool spindle for pulling Romex! Smooth payout, perfect fit on the Rack-A-Tiers, and even passed quality inspection by Kelsier.

Work smarter, not harder! Hope everyone is having a great week out there.

It’s all in the details! 🛠️⚡️

When upgrading an electrical service or relocating a panel, what’s on the outside matters just as much as what’s on the inside.

We make sure every exterior conduit run is level, securely strapped, and weather-sealed against Pacific Northwest moisture—paired with clean, labeled wiring inside the panel for easy future maintenance.

Quality craftsmanship that keeps your home safe and looking sharp.

Fixing an electrical safety hazard in Everett! ⚡️🏠

Many older homes in Snohomish County still have their original electrical panels located in hazardous spots—like inside bathrooms or tight bedroom closets.

On this recent project in Everett, we helped the homeowner bring their entire electrical system up to modern safety standards:

🛠️ Relocation: Moved the main electrical panel out of the interior bathroom to a clean exterior location.

🛠️ 200A Upgrade: Installed a new 200-amp service disconnect and meter base to handle modern power demands.

🛠️ Clean Routing: Built clean, weather-tight conduit runs along the exterior siding to catch and extend all existing branch circuits.

If your home has an outdated panel or you're planning a remodel, make sure your electrical is safe and up to current code.
