Daily gear upgrade for the job site! 🎒⚡️

I tried holding out, but after my old Klein backpack kept tipping over every time I set it down, I finally upgraded to the Milwaukee Packout Tool Backpack.

Safe to say I'm impressed—it stays completely upright, transferred all my hand tools with plenty of extra room, features easy bit storage clips, and the padded straps make carrying gear off the truck way easier on the shoulders.

Is it just me, or are manufacturer manuals disappearing from job sites? 🤷‍♂️⚡️

We were out at Northwest Pump in Marysville installing a 480V forklift battery charger. Standard procedure: pull the cover off to check the manufacturer’s wiring schematic and torque specs.

Except there was no manual inside. Searching online led to broken links, and the rep could only send a schematic for a "close" model.

When dealing with 480 volts, precision and safety are everything—we don't do guesswork. We got it properly verified and wired up clean, but it raises a real question: Are manufacturers assuming everyone just Googles it now?

Fellow tradespeople—how often are you dealing with missing paperwork on new equipment?

Settling the weatherhead debate once and for all! 🌧️⚡️

Paul, man, I know we're beefing now... 🤣 but we had to break down the physics of why we position our service heads the way we do.

When you face the weatherhead 180° away from the utility attachment, the line tension from the power company actually works for you—it forms a bigger, more pronounced drip loop. If you face it toward the pole, that tension pulls the wire flat against the opening, giving rain a direct path into the service conduit.

The poll was clear, the physics back it up, and Facebook has spoken! 🏆

A scary DIY mistake we found behind a fireplace TV setup today... 🏠⚡️

While working on a project in Marysville, we were asked to safely disconnect an outlet above a fireplace mantel.

When we pulled the wires, we expected a single power line feeding the box. Instead, we measured 120 volts on both sides! Someone had inadvertently fed this outlet from two completely different directions.

Feeding a single outlet or circuit from two sources (a double feed) creates dangerous backfeed risks and can easily shock an unsuspecting homeowner or contractor who thinks they turned the power off at the panel.

Always make sure your electrical system is routed correctly with a single, clear feed!
