A look back at a 1,200-ft driveway we completed a few months ago!

Before we arrived, the topsoil was stripped and the area was ready for a complete rebuild. We installed geo fabric, hauled in approximately 450 tons of 1–2” stone, and topped it with 4 inches of asphalt millings before thoroughly compacting the entire driveway.

In total, we hauled in approximately 800 tons of material to give this customer a solid, long-lasting driveway built to handle the traffic.

Here’s a pond project we finished a few weeks ago!

This project involved removing roughly 30 tons of muck from the middle of the pond so the customer could properly use their fountain again after the HOA lowered the water level. We also regraded the banks to make them safer and easier for the customer to mow without worrying about slipping into the pond.

Another job done by Orr Excavating customer was extremely happy with the end result.

Another project completed!

We cleared all of the existing trees, stumps, and brush from the area before hauling in seven loads of fill dirt. We also removed an old concrete pad that was located nearly against the roofline of the building. The pad had originally been used for dump trucks to unload material into the building for brick production.

Instead of hauling the concrete away, we broke it up and repurposed it as fill material. We then graded the entire area to improve drainage and direct water away from the building, helping to prevent future water issues.

The customer plans to install a retaining wall in the future to complete the project.

Here’s a driveway project we completed for a customer who was dealing with gravel constantly washing down the hill after heavy rain.

We started by bringing in 30 tons of crushed limestone and compacting it to create a solid base. Then we hauled in 100 tons of asphalt millings to build a durable new driveway. To prevent future washouts, we also cut in a swale to redirect water around the driveway instead of letting it flow straight down it.

The result is a stronger, longer-lasting driveway with improved drainage that will hold up for years to come.

Another satisfied customer. We were brought in to make some final grading adjustments after the homeowner felt the previous work did not fully achieve the desired results. While the property had been represented as being at final grade, the existing conditions indicated that additional work was needed.

Our team regraded the yard, redistributed topsoil to the rear of the property, adjusted the grade along the side of the house, and lowered the front yard. Customer is ready for the next steps.

Here is a sewer line repair we did a couple weeks ago for a customer. The existing clay pipe had roots growing in it from a tree causing everything to drain slowly in the house. We dug up the line and removed clay pipe to the right of way and installed 4 inches of 57 lime stone. After inspection we covered the pipe with 1 foot of stone, back filled, and compacted. We came back after the rain and hauled in 18 ton of topsoil, graded, and soil conditioned. Finishing off the job we seeded and strawed the area.
