High performance protection!

Delivering a weather resistant structure requires a comprehensive approach to building design. This includes careful consideration of the building materials and systems used for the project for example Roofing systems can be called on to provide high-performance protection. To solve this challenge we turn to metal roofing systems not only are these systems resilient to a wide range of extreme weather conditions, but they also are available in a myriad of colors and profile options to meet nearly any design vision.
A buildings ability to withstand today’s increasingly severe and frequent weather elements depends on its roofing system. Roofs protect against rain, hail, snow, high winds and even flaming debris from forest or brushfires. They can also be called on to support a buildings ability to maintain a comfortable interior environment, so protection from heat, and the sun is also crucial. High-quality metal substrates and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) paint finishes provide enhanced weather resistance.
Starting with the substrate, most metal roofing panels achieve a class, a fire rating which represents the highest rating possible. As a result, they can provide superior resistance to flaming debris from forest fires, brushfires or nearby lightning strikes, furthermore given a metal roofing panels, substantial strength to weight ratio and the ability to interlock via snap or mechanically locked system they can resist damage from Highwinds, including HVHZ (high velocity hurricane zone) requirements in South Florida. when installed per manufacturers installation instructions and using complete assemblies the metal roofing system can receive class 90 UL 580 wind, uplift ratings and meet UL 1897 extended phase wind uplift requirements.
Finally, metal has a high thermal emittance rate which means it sheds heat quickly to reduce the number of peak operating hours for a buildings HVAC system. Coupled with cool roof, rated PVDF finishes, roofing metal panels provide enhanced protection against solar heat gain. Likewise, PVDF offers protection against sun induced fading for a roofing solution that can last up to three times longer than a conventional system.
It is important to consider the manufacturer of the metal roofing system. Select manufacturers can offer several types of warrantees to give peace of mind to both the Roofing professionals and And users. Something to consider for your Home or Building. Thank you Brian McLaughlin for this input.

Insurance Company telling you, "You need a new roof" or they will cancel your homeowner's policy!

The assessment they gave of your roof system may not be right. The question is How do you know? That's where a professional roofing company can help, granted many companies see this as an opportunity to sell a roof, However, a reliable roofing company will give it to you straight. There are a couple of ways of finding the right company. First check with the BBB, if they are an accredited company and have no complaints that's a great start, the second thing you can do is get 3 companies to come out and give you their assessment and estimate of repair or replacement. Ask for references, and compare the assessments. There should be no charge for them to come out, my company does not charge for the verbal inspection report or the written estimate.

Just because the roof system is water infiltration-free does not mean you don't need a new roof and by the same token if the roof system is leaking you still may not need a new roof system and just a repair. This is where the professional Roofing Company comes in.
Depending on the age of the existing roof system, the condition of the shingles, flashing details, and what is found in the attic inspection will tell all we need to know. Ideally, you want to put on a new roof system or repairs before water infiltration occurs. I like to see an inspection of the roof system after the first 10 years of installation, then 15 years followed up with 20 years and then every 3 years after that. This way you can catch a situation before it becomes a large problem. The flashing details are usually the first thing to start leaking and can usually be repaired economically. This will be money well spent and protect the roof system and decking from deterioration.

Be proactive here, it pays off in the long run. So if you are in this insurance situation or just unsure of your roof system you have some options. Call us at 732-566-0944 I would be happy to help. AM
