Gardening through Refugee Organizations (GRO)

Gardening through Refugee Organizations (GRO) Project Description The Food Project and Boston Natural Areas Network (BNAN) assist in trainings, building raised beds, and developing new community gardens.

Now in its 3d year, the Project provides training and support for roughly 600 refugee gardeners to produce vegetables in community gardens, containers, and backyard kitchen gardens in Boston and Lynn. Activities linking agriculture and family cohesion, youth leadership, and economic and skills development support refugee populations to socially integrate into their neighborhoods, connect with other refugee communities, and at the same time maintain and share their cultural identity.
